Job Description We are seeking motivated and energetic candidates to join our team as a Senior Manager of Project Development, reporting to the company’s VP of Development. The successful candidate will have experience with large-scale energy project development in ERCOT, CAISO and/or WECC. Project Developers at esVolta are engaged in all aspects of the development cycle including assessing the potential for energy storage in state and regional markets, shaping regional go-to market strategies, initiating and managing greenfield project developments, managing external consultants, assessing project economics, developing proposals and executing revenue and/or hedge contracts with utility customers and other market offtakers, and participating in M&amp;A opportunities. Key Responsibilities<ul><li style="margin-left:8px;">Manage development of greenfield energy storage projects from inception through to start of construction, including leading overall project management, managing project schedule and budget, managing external consultants, coordinating with finance to maintain pro-forma financial models, originating and executing revenue contracts, ensuring compliance with financing requirements and supporting diligence during project financing.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Evaluate regional markets to assess the potential application of utility-scale energy storage, including interacting with potential customers, analyzing utility IRP filings, following wholesale market regulatory proceedings, tracking capacity additions/retirements and evaluating wholesale market energy and ancillary service price trends and opportunities in partnership with our commercial optimization personnel.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Work in partnership with our commercial optimization personnel to maintain relationships with key buyers of energy storage services including utilities, co-ops, municipalities and power marketing firms.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Prepare and respond to RFP solicitations in collaboration with the company’s finance, construction and commercial groups.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Lead M&amp;A opportunity evaluation, diligence and transactions in conjunction with finance, construction and commercial teams.</li></ul> Skills and Qualifications<ul><li style="margin-left:8px;">Bachelor’s degree, with MBA or other advanced degree preferred. </li><li style="margin-left:8px;">At least 5-7 years of work experience in the power and utilities industry including renewable or conventional generation, with preference for energy storage experience.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Experience developing and managing greenfield development projects including site selection, negotiating site control, applying for grid interconnection, managing permitting, submitting proposals, and financial modeling.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Knowledge of wholesale power markets.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Solid understanding of energy project economics, and quantitative analysis and financial modeling skills.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Ability to summarize and present complicated information in a clear way.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and hardworking with a sense of urgency.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Collaborative and team oriented. </li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Curious with willingness to dig into details and conduct independent research to solve problems.</li></ul> Compensation and Benefits The actual salary and bonus offered will depend on the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.   Salary: $165,000Bonus: 20% <ul><li style="margin-bottom:4px;margin-left:8px;">401k program with 6% match</li><li style="margin-bottom:4px;margin-left:8px;">Cell phone stipend</li><li style="margin-bottom:4px;margin-left:8px;">Medical, dental and vision care benefits</li><li style="margin-bottom:4px;margin-left:8px;">20 vacation days, 5 sick days, 9 observed holidays</li></ul> Location This position is classified as remote; however, periodic travel to company offices, project sites, or other meeting locations may be required on an as-needed basis.
