You will perform testing with in-house equipment and at external test labs to complete the testing according to the identified standards and each project’s timeframes.</p><p>In addition, you will have close collaboration with our team in China, New Zealand, and USA to execute the tests outside of India.</p><p>You will create high-quality reports, and you will have clear spoken and written communication so that our global team can understand the status of testing and any issues arising from test failures.</p><p><a></a><a></a>What you will do</p><ul><li>Contribute significantly to the development of new electromechanical products, with a focus on testing (60%) and design (40%), working effectively in both solo and team environments</li><li>Manage assigned mechanical design projects, adhering to project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards</li><li>Design and execute comprehensive test plans (Inhouse and external lab) to verify mechanical performance against design specifications, including static and dynamic loading, fatigue testing, environmental testing, and reliability testing</li><li>Preparing mechanical mock-ups, Prototypes, Electro-mechanical assemblies, Cable Assemblies, and test sample preparation</li><li>Design parts for plastic injection molding, sheet metal operations, Die casting &amp; extrusion etc</li><li>Work on connector designs, cable assemblies &amp; ECAD/MCAD integrations</li><li>Testing proof-of-concepts, prototypes. Finished product for functionality &amp; performance</li><li>Analyze test data, identify potential issues, and implement design improvements to address any deficiencies</li><li>Develop and maintain test protocols and documentation</li><li>Utilize test equipment and instrumentation to collect accurate data (e.g., strain gauges, load cells, data acquisition systems)</li><li>Drive lab space safety, regulatory and security processes compliance</li><li>Failure analysis and root cause identification</li></ul><p><a></a> Who you are and What you bring</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering</li><li>10+ years (with BE / BS) or 8+ years (with Masters) of industry work experience in product design &amp; development</li><li>In-depth knowledge and understanding of design for manufacture of parts made through injection moulding, sheet metal, stamping, milling/turning</li><li>Hands on in preparing mechanical mock-ups, Prototypes, Electro-mechanical assemblies, Cable Assemblies, and test sample preparation</li><li>Good exposure on UL/IEC and related standards. Experience on UL1741, IL9540, UL 9540A will be an added advantage</li><li>Experience in testing below international standards is desirable (but not limited to)</li><li>Inverters UL 1741, Electrical connectors UL 6703, UL 9703, EN 60512, EN 60352; Polymers UL 94, UL 746C</li><li>Ingress protection IEC 60529/IPXX/NEMA Enclosure standards</li><li>Experience using computer-aided development tools (SolidWorks)</li><li>Exposure to electrical and electronic testing with knowledge on thermocouple instrumenting and connecting to Data logging equipment for capturing test data</li><li>Ability to plan, lead and drive the DVT tasks and activities independently with minimal supervision/oversight</li><li>Hands on Experience on testing Electromechanical products for Design Verification</li><li>Understanding of structural and thermal design considerations</li><li>Good Exposure on DFX for high volume production</li><li>Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication</li><li>Understanding of Tolerance stack up &amp; application of GD&amp; T</li><li>Experience in DFMEA, DFM, RCCA, Mold flow</li><li>Good exposure to selection of Material (plastic, sheet metal, sealings / gaskets)</li><li>Experience in design and testing of IP rated enclosures</li><li>Clear communication, verbal and written</li><li>Experience in the design of high-volume products would be a plus</li><li>Previous employment in high-power and consumer products industries would be an added advantage</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><div><p> </p></div>
