This position must be able to successfully interface and communicate on complex topics with internal/external Transmission Planners and vendor service providers. This includes models for the generator, excitation system and governor for synchronous units, and models for the facility, Volt/VAR control, and Frequency/Power control, and electromagnetic transient (EMT) for Inverter Based Resources (IBRs). Technical support for generator excitation systems is also provided. The incumbent will establish and maintain expert level knowledge of excitation systems in the fleet. When issues escalate beyond station and regional technical capabilities, consultation to Station System Owners, Excitation System Technicians, Project Managers is provided. The incumbent will own and/or support and maintain associated NERC Reliability Standards, e.g. MOD-026, MOD-027.<h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Prepare reports, whitepapers, and/or presentations which address technically complex and financially significant issues.</li><li>Leads the development and scoping of new improvement initiatives across the fleet to maintain compliance with standards and company governance and policies.</li><li>Manage existing and develop new business relationships with OEMs and other vendors to ensure our business and other needs are being met (such as safety, quality work, good value, financial needs, warranty, etc.).</li><li>Provide support for RRE stations during audits, assessments, and outage preparation and execution activities.
