The ideal candidate will have a solid background in surveying and topographical assessments, with substantial experience in supporting large-scale civil engineering projects, particularly in hydropower development.<ul><li>Assist in conducting land and topographic surveys under the guidance of the Surveyor.</li><li>Support the establishment of control points and alignments for construction activities.</li><li>Record and maintain accurate site data and field notes.</li><li>Operate basic surveying instruments, including Total Station and GPS, under supervision.</li><li>Perform basic calculations and data processing to support survey tasks.</li><li>Ensure proper care and handling of survey equipment.</li><li>Follow safety protocols and project guidelines during fieldwork.</li></ul>With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.Suitable applicants will have/be:<ul><li>Tertiary qualifications or a related discipline (e.g. Diploma in Civil, Surveying or a related field.)</li><li>Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in surveying, preferably in hydropower or large-scale infrastructure projects.</li><li>Basic knowledge of surveying principles and equipment.</li><li>Ability to work in challenging and remote locations.</li></ul>SMEC is an equal opportunity employer.
