<h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">About the role</span></h1><p>Muon seeks a Simulation Engineer to join our Sim Team.  The ideal candidate loves making tools that empower teams, has a deep knowledge of simulation techniques, and has a relentless drive to find clear, elegant solutions to multidisciplinary problems. Muon has a very sim-forward development process, and our sim tooling is core to our mission design, proposal generation, vehicle design, Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) system development, software testing, and operations. A successful Simulation Engineer feels their impact in the success of other teams that have the tools they need to get their jobs done quickly and confidently.</p><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">Responsibilities</span></h1><ul><li>Model physics in a variety of domains (mechanical, electrical, thermal, radio) and at a variety of fidelities</li><li>Integrate our sim with flight software and hardware</li><li>Help design and implement our Digital Twin system to answer the question, “What is our best estimate of spacecraft state (position, orientation, state of charge, actuator states, software state, etc.) at a given point in time in the future or past?”</li><li>Demonstrate successful patterns for using the sim to answer questions to make users more effective</li><li>Lower the barrier to entry for new users so more people can quickly ask and answer questions with sim</li><li>Develop tools for large, cloud-based sets of sim runs</li><li>Develop visualization tools</li><li>Own several different analyses for different spacecraft (be your own end user)</li><li>Understand sim users’ needs and make development plans according to priority and program schedules</li></ul><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">Qualifications</span> </h1><ul><li>B.S. or higher degree in an engineering field plus 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably with exposure to spacecraft systems, orbital mechanics, and simulation techniques</li><li>Expertise in common numerical programming environments (Julia, NumPy/SciPy, MATLAB)</li><li>A track record of multidisciplinary modeling of physical systems</li><li>Extensive experience running simulations associated with vehicle development</li><li>Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills</li><li>A preference for fast-paced, dynamic work environments</li></ul><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">Nice-to-have Skills</span></h1><ul><li>Spacecraft experience</li></ul><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">Salary</span></h1><p>The salary range for this role is $129K - $192K and will depend on a candidate's skills, geographic location, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.</p><div><h1><span style="font-size:14pt;">About Muon Space</span></h1><p><span style="font-size:12pt;">Founded in 2021, Muon Space is an end-to-end Space Systems Provider that designs, builds, and operates LEO satellite constellations delivering mission-critical data.
