Looking for a highly motivated and seasoned Flight Dynamics Engineer to join a team of flight dynamics and software professionals. This team is crucial for managing the orbits of our advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite constellation. You will play a key role in the ongoing success and operational efficiency of Earth's largest commercial SAR network, focusing on areas like repeat ground-track, orbital-tube control, and formation flying.Your role demands a blend of technical knowledge to enhance satellite operations, refine software solutions, and tackle challenges in orbit. Collaboration with mission planning, ground systems, and satellite operations teams will be essential to achieving mission objectives.What will you do in this role?<ul> <li>Design, develop, deploy and maintain control strategies (including station keeping, collision avoidance and orbit acquisition), simulations, automations, visualizations and monitoring tools.</li> <li>Oversee execution of orbit control strategies across ICEYE fleet.</li> <li>Write technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.</li> <li>Participate in design and code reviews</li> <li>Take ownership of the complete lifecycle of tools you develop.</li> <li>Partner with mission operations, payload teams, and ground systems engineers to align flight dynamics activities with mission requirements.</li> </ul>Requirements<ul> <li>Educational Background:</li> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field.</li> <li>Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in flight dynamics, satellite operations, or related disciplines are a plus.</li> </ul> </ul><ul> <li>Experience and skills:</li> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in orbital dynamics, orbit control or orbit determination.</li> <li>Demonstrated in-depth understanding of orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, and satellite operations, especially including techniques to plan and execute low-thrust maneuvers.</li> <li>Experience of working with numerical models for the purpose of verification of control algorithms and strategies.</li> <li>Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar.</li> <li>Familiarity with collision avoidance operations and regulations is desired.</li> <li>Experience working with continuous integration and deployment of software systems is desired.</li> <li>Proficiency in modern software development tools: git, CI/CD systems, Kubernetes is desired</li> </ul> </ul><ul> <li>Leadership &amp; Communication:</li> <ul> <li>Strong self- organizational skills.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.</li> </ul> </ul>Our Commitment To YouWhen you apply to a role at ICEYE, we commit to responding to your initial application within 5 working days, if not sooner.
