If you’re the kind of person who sees a problem, develops a solution, and engineers an improvement no one’s asked for yet, then we want to talk with you! </p><p>As a Drive Unit Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will develop improvements to state-of-the-art Motor-Gearbox, investigate electro-mechanical issues, and implement solutions. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination.  </p><p> </p><p><strong>The Role:</strong> </p><ul><li>Design, Release and Manage Drive unit CAD and BOM for all Drive units in production. </li><li>Lead investigation of continuous improvement activities of a high voltage electro-mechanical system </li></ul><ul><li>Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment </li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate actions between design, manufacturing, quality and production </li></ul><ul><li>Identify and implement Design-For-Assembly, Design-For-Manufacturing and cost savings activities. </li></ul><ul><li>Work with cross functional teams to develop solutions, root cause issues on the production line and in the vehicle as needed.</li><li>Build and test prototype solutions to test new ideas and solutions. </li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong> </p><ul><li>6+ years of experience with a Bachelor degree or 3+ years of work experience with a Masters degree. (Drive unit / Transmission / Axles design experience)</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent CAD and CAE skills (Catia preferred) </li><li>Strong understanding of product life cycle management and related tools. </li><li>Expertise in root cause analysis (8D, fishbone diagrams, etc.) to identify and resolve production issues. </li><li>Good understanding of HV Mechanical and Electrical systems. </li></ul><ul><li>Hands-on practical experience with shop tools and prototyping. </li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Die casting, Injection molding, sheet metal stamping,  etc.  <br> </li></ul><p><strong>Preferred:</strong> </p><ul><li>Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt certification is a plus), and continuous improvement tools like Gauge R&amp;R, Statistical Process Control. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with automotive electric propulsion systems </li><li>Knowledge of NVH, Durability principles</li></ul><ul><li>Strong data analysis skills, including MATLAB </li><li>Strong 3D CAD skills, proficient with CATIA or similar software</li></ul><div> </div><div> </div><div>At Lucid, we don’t just welcome diversity - we celebrate it!
