The CBTA team mandate is to support clients and beneficiaries in emerging markets develop and growth the sustainable debt market be it through the issuances of labelled bonds or banking instruments. The range of activities include the process of issuing a thematic debt, which includes framework review, a portfolio assessment to identify green/sustainable projects, assets and/or activities using an international or local taxonomy.  In addition, CBTA also does market assessment to determine the ecosystem for issuers and domestic investors/financiers and provides guidance in terms investment decisions in sustainable assets and activities.Duties and responsibilities:<ul> <li>Lead or Support in the delivery of technical assistance deliverables which will require a good understanding of taxonomies, international standards or sector criteria for green and transition activities. </li> <li>Market research and report development that provides an overview sustainable market, reflects an understanding of the development of the sustainable debt market, the relevant regulations and key trends of financing innovation in sectors</li> <li>Interact and liaise with CBI’s headquarters including Standards and Certification teams to ensure correct application of CBI standards and taxonomies to Technical Assistance deliverables.  </li> <li>Liaise with colleagues and external stakeholders, when necessary, to ensure the correct application of other regional and local taxonomies.  </li> <li>Support Programmes Officer on budget management and other governance &amp; administrative tasks. </li> <li>Support, if necessary, to deliver trainings and presentations for Technical Assistance.  </li> </ul>RequirementsEssential:<ul> <li>Master’s degree in finance, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related fields. </li> <li>Excellent communication (writing and speaking) skills in English and one other language (preferable)</li> <li>Ability to get things done while exercising good judgment.</li> <li>Creative and organised, with attention to detail.</li> <li>Collaborative and efficient in working with colleagues from other teams</li> <li>At least 5 years of experience in any one of these areas: investing, financing, policy design, taxonomy design.</li> <li>Knowledge of finance, capital markets, bond issuances</li> <li>Ability to work independently and problem-solving initiative.</li> <li>Self-motivated and flexible.</li> <li>Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. </li> <li>Ability to travel for work</li> </ul>Desirable:<ul> <li>Experience in issuing a bond </li> <li>Previous experience in Technical Assistance and/or project management.</li> </ul>Benefits<ul> <li>Opportunity to work with a global team on stimulating projects that have a positive impact globally</li> <li>Work with Thought Leaders and grow your career</li> <li>Opportunity to be creative and innovative</li> <li>NGO Competitive salary</li> <li>Remote and flexible working</li> <li>A family-friendly and inclusive environment</li> <li>25+ days holiday</li> </ul>

Supported by a 50-member Advisory Panel, CBI has an international stakeholder base among institutional investors, NGOs and the finance sector.

The aim is to develop a large and liquid Green and Climate Bonds market that will help drive down the cost of capital for climate projects and improve access to lower-cost debt in emerging markets.
