And that’s where you come in.Purpose of the Job:The candidate will be included in a team responsible for the design and software development activities on TCMS (Train Control &amp; Monitoring System) units for High Speed rolling stock applications.In particular, he will be responsible for the Train network configuration and for the development of the control unit designed to manage the communication with wayside.Key responsibilities:<ul><li>The candidate will be included, within the design department, in a team responsible for the design of the TCMS system in accordance with the specific requirements of the Project and deriving from the current railway regulations and standards. The team will take care of the entire software life cycle, from the specification phase to the validation phase in the laboratory, including modification phase and troubleshooting for any issues that should be raised during the service. It will also support, for each of the previous cases, the validation phases during the test acceptance tests with the customer.</li><li>Analysis of the requirements, the design and development of the embedded software for the on-board electronic control units both in case of new projects and of corrective software maintenance</li><li>TCMS system architecture definition and modifications for the specific project to solve operating problems and satisfy any possible modification requests coming from the customer.</li><li>Writing of functional and software requirements specifications for new and existing projects</li><li>Software implementation and testing using company tools.</li><li>Writing of product documentation and product modification according to company standards</li><li>Writing test cases (including non-regression tests) to demonstrate coverage of project requirements and/or new/modified requirements.</li><li>Design review with Clients and Suppliers</li><li>Analysis and troubleshooting of issues raised during service operation on the basis, in order to propose mitigation actions (in short period) and corrective solution on the project (in long period)</li></ul>Mandatory skills:<ul><li>Basic Ethernet network protocol (TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP)</li><li>Knowledge of C/C++ programming languages</li><li>Excellent knowledge of Matlab-Simulink-Stateflow</li><li>Knowledge of C programming languages</li><li>English language</li><li>Availability to travel (short trip)</li><li>Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation, with the aptitude to contribute with constructive and practical ideas.</li><li>Readiness to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multitasking international environment.</li><li>Ability to work autonomously in teams and for projects is required.</li><li>Availability for short-term national and international business trip.</li></ul>Desired skills:<ul><li>Basic Linux Operative system (user level)</li><li>Knowledge of test scripting and scripting languages.</li><li>Real time embedded systems</li><li>Advanced Ethernet network protocol (TRDP Protocol, MQTT, REST)</li><li>Cybersecurity (network security control, intrusion detection, firewall configuration)</li></ul>Education/QualificationsMaster degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent  Languages  Fluent Knowledge of English (written &amp; spoken).Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
