You can read more about us in <a href="https://pacificfusion.com/updates/founders-letter">this letter from our founders</a>.<h1>About the Role</h1><h2>Job Overview:</h2>As Director of Accounting/Controller, you will be responsible for all accounting and financial operations activities for Pacific Fusion. You will work to build and optimize processes and enable the engineers and scientists across the organization as they bring our demonstration system online.<h2>Responsibilities:</h2><ul style=""><li>Execute a monthly close process including producing monthly financial statements</li><li>Oversee all aspects of financial operations including accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable</li><li>Produce quarterly financial reporting including budget to actuals and associated analysis</li><li>Work across the finance team to update the corporate forecast each quarter</li><li>Perform ad hoc analysis as requested to support various leadership initiatives</li><li>Drive efficiency across financial operations processes</li><li>Develop and support a team of two senior accountants</li></ul><h2>Qualifications:</h2><ul style=""><li>At least four years of public accounting experience</li><li>Experience owning the end to end month end close process for a hardware company</li><li>Experience creating new operational processes and ensuring continued improvement of those processes over time</li><li>Experience compiling financial details into cohesive and comprehensive executive summaries for consumption by various levels of leadership</li></ul><h2>Preferred but not required:</h2><ul style=""><li>Experience in a public company SOX environment</li><li>Experience working in a startup</li><li>Experience implementing finance-touching software tools</li><li>Experience working in industries such as: fusion, energy, aerospace, automotive or manufacturing</li><li>Experience working closely with PhD scientists and R&amp;D technology organizations</li></ul><h2>Benefits:</h2><ul style=""><li>Industry-competitive salary</li><li>Equity plan</li><li>6% employer 401k matching</li><li>Generous paid time off (including sick leave, vacation, paid family leave)</li><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance</li></ul>Actual base salary offered will be determined by: experience, skills, and work location.
