This role will involve handling requests from engineers to fabricate parts while providing DFAM feedback and guidance for material and process selection. Both one-off parts and small-volume production are common, using either FFF, SLA or SLS processes. The 3D Print Lab Technician is also expected to maintain relationships with 3D printing service bureaus to advise engineers when outsourcing printed parts.</p><p>The Role:</p><p>· Proficiently set up, operate, and maintain FFF, SLA and SLS 3D printing equipment</p><p>· Stock appropriate materials and maintenance parts</p><p>· Inspect print request files for printability and geometric errors</p><p>· Coordinate scheduling of print requests to ensure timely delivery of parts</p><p>· Provide DFAM feedback and material/process guidance to engineers prior to printing components</p><p>· Collect part performance feedback after printing components</p><p>· Maintain relationships with external printing services and understand their general prototyping capabilities</p><p>· Set expectations with engineers, deliver parts within the expected timeframe, and follow-up on part performance</p><p>Required Qualifications:</p><p>· 2+ years’ operating 3D printing equipment in a professional capacity</p><p>· Good understanding of material selection, differences, process suitability and performance tradeoffs</p><p>· Familiarity with CAD files inspection and repair software (ex. Magics, Netfabb, ..,)</p><p>· Hands-on experience with operating FFF, SLA and SLS equipment</p><p>· Strong DFAM competency to provide both feedback and guidance to our engineering team</p><p>· Knowledge/experience with different post-processing and finishing processes</p><p>· Able to work relatively independently while collaborating effectively with designers and engineers</p><p>· Knowledge of automotive environmental considerations</p><p>· Excellent planning and organization skills to handle large request volumes effectively</p><p>Advantageous:</p><p>· Prior operation of Formlabs, Stratasys, and/or Markforged equipment</p><p>· Basic understanding of anisotropic material considerations</p><p>· Experience with ticketing system interface and workflow</p><p>· Knowledge of designing mating features and maintaining clearances based on process tolerance</p><p>· Parts will often vary significantly and will unlikely be well-suited for 3D printing, so experience with challenging setups and print time optimization is helpful</p><p> </p><p>At Lucid, we don’t just welcome diversity - we celebrate it!
