Job Description:<h3>Position Overview</h3>As the NPI Coordinator, you will play a central role in coordinating the launch of new heavy equipment products, ensuring seamless integration of engineering, manufacturing, and field operations. This position requires a strong technical foundation in construction machinery, hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical systems, as well as a practical, problem-solving mindset. You will collaborate cross-functionally to plan, execute, and track new product introductions from early prototyping through production and market launch.<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Coordinate cross-functional activities related to New Product Introduction (NPI), including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and service teams.</li><li>Serve as the technical liaison between design engineering and manufacturing, ensuring design intent is preserved and manufacturability is optimized.</li><li>Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities, including field testing with solar installation equipment.</li><li>Assist in developing and executing NPI project plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies.</li><li>Analyze system-level interactions involving hydraulics, mechanical assemblies, electronics, and control systems to identify and resolve technical issues.</li><li>Lead or assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions during pilot production and early product lifecycle phases.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement of NPI processes, documentation, and standard operating procedures.</li><li>Monitor and track key NPI performance metrics such as readiness reviews, phase gate deliverables, and production readiness.</li><li>Support training and knowledge transfer to manufacturing and service teams.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3>Required:<ul><li>Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.</li><li>3+ years of experience in product development, NPI, or technical coordination roles in heavy equipment, construction machinery, or similar industries.</li><li>Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, mechanical assemblies, control electronics, and diagnostics.</li><li>Strong understanding of BOMs, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes.</li><li>Experience with prototyping, testing, and design-for-manufacture (DFM) principles.</li><li>Ability to interpret and analyze technical data and troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems.</li><li>Excellent communication and coordination skills.</li><li>Proficient with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Experience working with equipment used in solar installation or renewable energy sectors.</li><li>Knowledge of project management principles or experience with stage-gate product development processes.</li><li>Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.</li><li></li></ul><h3>Physical and Travel Requirements</h3><ul><li>Ability to work hands-on with machinery and tools in lab, shop, and field environments.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform mechanical assembly tasks.</li><li>Significant travel (up to 33%) to supplier, manufacturing, and customer sites.</li></ul>Pay Range (Applicable to California)$120,000.00 - $135,000.00 dependent on level of experienceWhy Join Nextracker: 🚀 Innovative Environment: Be part of a team that's at the forefront of revolutionizing solar energy technology.
