We are building new tools and processes to drive fusion performance up and power plant costs down.</div><div><br></div><div>As a Research Software Engineer, you will join our simulation platform development team, where you will collaborate on the design, development, and maintenance of next-generation software solutions for stellarator simulation and optimization.</div><div><br></div><div>The ideal candidate is a talented software practitioner with a user-first mindset, interested in tackling a diverse mix of challenges in scientific computing and simulation within a dynamic start-up environment.</div><div><br></div><div><b>WHAT YOU WILL DO</b></div><div>-Develop and maintain the full stack of our stellarator design and simulation framework, from cloud-based simulators to web UIs, enabling Proxima to keep improving the state of the art of stellarator technology at a fast pace.</div><div>- Ensure the developer experience of our stellarator researchers and engineers is state of the art, accelerating and improving the quality of our R&amp;D work, also integrating useful AI tools into our workflows.</div><div>- Assist physicists and engineers with the design and development of new workflows, also automating and simplifying the integration of external tools.</div><div><br></div><div><b>WHO YOU ARE </b></div><div>- Solid knowledge of Python in the context of scientific software development, such as developing a Python package with a C++ computational core for multiple users.</div><div>- Experience in building, packaging and deploying scientific software using common CI and containerization solutions.</div><div>- Enjoy staying up to date with current software development best practices and tools, e.g. AI coding assistants or modern data pipelines and scheduling solutions.</div><div>- Enjoy diving into new problems with a continuous learning attitude, absorbing relevant domain knowledge.</div><div>- Additional experience with scientific C++ and Fortran libraries, HPC technologies, cloud computing, or web app development is a plus.</div><br><br><h3>INTERVIEW PROCESS</h3><ul><li>Recruiter Interview (30-60 min).</li><li>Technical Screening (30 min).</li><li>Technical Panel (3x60 min).</li><li>CEO call (30 min).</li></ul><br><div><span style="font-size:16px;">At Proxima Fusion, our mission is bold: making limitless clean energy a reality.
