AECOM is seeking a talented Civil Engineer to support our Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources practice based in Rocky Hill, CT.The selected mid-level engineer will have a primary focus on water/wastewater/water resources utility planning, design, and condition assessment, and for state, municipal, and private clients. The candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including site investigations, field measurements, utility investigations, capacity studies, condition assessments, conceptual through final design, cost estimating, and construction administration/observation. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to develop professionally through frequent collaboration with senior engineers, project manager, clients, regulatory agencies, and industry-leading subject matter experts, and attendance at professional conferences.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Provides technical support for a variety of utility design related projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, water line and collection line design, rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.</li><li>Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.</li><li>Work under supervision of a project manager in the water/wastewater/water resources practice or senior level team members.</li><li>Utilize basic engineering principles, judgement, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems.</li><li>Work on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses.</li><li>Perform work with increasing responsibility.</li><li>Propose approaches to solve new problems.</li><li>Identify discrepancies in outcomes, results, and analysis of engineering tasks.</li><li>Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.</li><li>Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.</li><li>Record and interpret data, conduct analyses, prepare reports, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.</li><li>Perform data gathering site visits, field measurements, mapping, and observations during construction.</li><li>Providing construction support for review of shop drawings, request for information and site visits to the construction</li><li>Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.</li></ul>
