This role requires deep expertise in recruiting for manufacturing or technical hardware roles, with a strong preference for experience in energy storage systems (ESS) or adjacent industries. The Senior Manager will build and lead a high-performing recruitment team, partner with cross-functional leaders, and ensure a seamless, candidate-centric hiring process that aligns with Gotion’s growth objectives in building a 40GW ESS Facility hiring 2600 employees, enabling what is over a $2B investment.If you're focused on having a positive, outsized impact, this may be the role for you. <h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Talent Acquisition Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract and retain top talent for manufacturing, engineering, and technical roles, with a focus on ESS and related industries.</li><li>Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of five Recruiters, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence with team members situated across Illinois and California. </li><li>Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with department heads (e.g., Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations and Corporate) to understand hiring needs, define job requirements, and align recruitment efforts with business goals.</li><li>Candidate Sourcing: Own leadership and confidential hiring by leveraging innovative sourcing techniques, including job boards, social media, industry networks, and partnerships with universities or technical institutes, to build a robust pipeline of qualified candidates.</li><li>Process Optimization: Streamline the end-to-end recruitment process, from role planning to onboarding, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and a positive candidate experience.</li><li>Employer Branding: Collaborate with HR and Communications teams to build Gotion’s employer brand, showcasing our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and career growth.</li><li>Metrics &amp; Reporting: Track and analyze recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, candidate satisfaction) to drive continuous improvement and report progress to senior leadership.</li><li>Compliance: Ensure all recruitment activities comply with federal and state labor laws, including EEOC, OFCCP, and other relevant regulations.</li><li>University Recruiting: Oversee UR programs, and ensure we're building bridges between Students and opportunity in the region. </li><li>Industry Engagement: Stay informed on trends in manufacturing, ESS, and technical hardware industries to anticipate talent needs and maintain a competitive edge. </li><li>Community: Build strong synergies and bridge programs between local communities, training and ultimately opportunities. </li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.</li><li>Experience:<ul><li>Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.</li><li>Scaling experience, ideally from hundreds to thousands across exempt and non exempt. </li><li>Proven experience recruiting for manufacturing or technical hardware roles, ideally within the ESS industry or adjacent sectors (e.g., automotive, renewable energy, battery technology).</li><li>Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing recruitment teams.</li></ul></li><li>Skills:<ul><li>Deep knowledge of recruitment strategies for technical and manufacturing roles, including sourcing passive candidates.</li><li>Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop talent.</li><li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with candidates, hiring managers, and senior leadership.</li><li>Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (Ideally Greenhouse) and recruitment tools (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed).</li><li>Analytical mindset with experience using recruitment metrics to drive decision-making.</li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while managing multiple priorities.</li></ul></li><li>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Direct experience in ESS or battery manufacturing recruitment.</li><li>Established network within the renewable energy or advanced manufacturing sectors.</li><li>Familiarity with Illinois labor market dynamics and regional talent pools.</li></ul></li></ul><h2>Work Environment</h2><ul><li>Full-time position based in Manteno, Illinois, with occasional travel for industry events, job fairs, or alternate Gotion locations.</li><li>Fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on innovation and sustainability.</li></ul>The US base salary range for this full-time position is $145,000 - $165,000 + 15-20% bonus + benefits + relocation. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, candidate and location.
