This role will focus on the design, analysis, and management of bridge projects throughout South Africa, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil or structural engineering, with specialized experience in bridge engineering.Key Responsibilities:Design and Engineering:<ul><li>Lead the design and analysis of bridge structures, ensuring compliance with local standards and international codes.</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, urban planners, and geotechnical engineers, to develop effective and innovative bridge designs.</li><li>Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for bridge projects.</li></ul>Project Management:<ul><li>Manage bridge projects from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality control measures.</li><li>Oversee the production of engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations in line with project requirements.</li><li>Conduct design reviews and site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.</li></ul>Client and Stakeholder Engagement:<ul><li>Liaise with clients, contractors, and government authorities to present design solutions and address any technical concerns.</li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.</li></ul>Innovation and Sustainability:<ul><li>Advocate for the integration of sustainable engineering practices in bridge designs, focusing on energy efficiency and environmental impact.</li><li>Stay informed on the latest advancements in bridge engineering, materials, and technologies to drive innovation in project delivery.</li></ul><div></div>Qualifications:<ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a specialization in bridge engineering.</li><li>Experience: 5+ years of experience in bridge design and project management, with a proven track record of delivering successful infrastructure projects in South Africa.</li><li>Skills:<ul><li>Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., Midas, SAP2000, CSI Bridge).</li><li>Strong knowledge of local bridge design codes and standards (SANS, TRH, etc.).</li><li>Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.</li></ul></li></ul><div></div>How to Apply?Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their resume and cover letter outlining their qualifications and experience via email to SJ-MEjobs@surbanajurong.com.
