<div> About the Role The Procurement assistant will be responsible for supporting the services/ RFQ/ supplier sourcing, etc., for Nigeria while supporting operations in BURN Kano. Duties and Responsibilities:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px;"><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;"><a>Place and manage purchase orders with local suppliers, ensuring timely delivery through consistent follow-up and coordination.</a></li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs); analyse bids, conduct bid evaluations, and present recommendations for approval.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and value for money.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Conduct market research and due diligence to identify and evaluate potential vendors.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding the status of procurement requests.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Monitor inventory levels and proactively place replenishment orders to avoid stockouts.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Convert end-user requests into Purchase Orders; ensure timely approvals and follow-ups.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Collaborate with warehouse staff to plan for inbound deliveries and ensure optimal storage arrangements.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Foster strong communication and maintain professional relationships with suppliers.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Work closely with engineering and warehouse teams to procure spare parts, consumables, and production materials as per technical specifications.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Execute online purchases in coordination with the finance department, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Maintain accurate and organized procurement documentation and filing systems.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Update weekly cash forecasts to inform supplier payment schedules in line with negotiated terms.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Conduct vendor appraisals and analyze supplier performance for continuous improvement.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Maintain and update the Preferred Supplier List.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Perform other duties as assigned by the Procurement Manager.</li></ul>Skills and Experience:<ul style="margin-bottom:11px;"><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Desirable: Certification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Desirable: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Highly Desirable: Fundamental understanding of procurement best practices, vendor management, and contract negotiation.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Highly Desirable: Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;text-align:justify;margin-left:8px;">Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
