This newly created role will be instrumental in assessing current processes, identifying gaps, and designing best-in-class internal controls and enterprise risk management frameworks and operational programs in collaboration with senior leadership. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in internal audit, enterprise risk management (ERM), and internal controls, and will play a key role in supporting the organization’s achievement of its strategic objectives and ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.</p><p> </p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><h2>Key Responsibilities:</h2><h3>Internal Controls Program Development</h3><ul> <li>Lead the design and implementation of ERMCO’s internal controls framework, beginning with internal controls over financial reporting.</li> <li>Assess existing processes and controls to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.</li> <li>Collaborate with leadership to define, document, and implement control objectives, policies, and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.</li></ul><h3>Risk Management &amp; Assessment</h3><ul> <li>Further develop and maintain ERMCO’s enterprise risk management framework, including risk identification, assessment, prioritization, and mitigation strategies.</li> <li>Conduct periodic risk assessments across the Company to identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities.</li> <li>Facilitate risk workshops and interviews with key stakeholders to gather insights and build a comprehensive risk profile.</li> <li>Establish key risk indicators (KRIs) and monitor trends to proactively address potential issues.</li></ul><h3>Audit &amp; Compliance</h3><ul> <li>Plan and execute audits of internal controls and other risk mitigation activities, including documentation, testing, and reporting.</li> <li>Support accounting-related audit activities and ensure alignment with financial reporting standards.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with audit standards, COSO, and relevant regulatory frameworks.</li></ul><h3>Reporting &amp; Communication</h3><ul> <li>Present results of internal control and risk management activities to stakeholders, including the Enterprise Risk Committee and senior leadership.</li> <li>Prepare risk and control reports for the Enterprise Risk Committee, senior leadership and the Board, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations.</li> <li>Maintain a centralized risk register and ensure timely updates and documentation.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure transparency and alignment on risk mitigation efforts.</li></ul><h3>Implementation &amp; Change Management</h3><ul> <li>Provide implementation support for new policies, controls, systems, and processes.</li> <li>Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful adoption and integration of internal controls and risk management practices.</li> <li>Develop training materials and lead sessions to promote internal control and risk awareness.</li></ul><h3>Monitoring &amp; Continuous Improvement</h3><ul> <li>Conduct periodic testing and evaluation of internal controls and risk mitigation strategies to ensure ongoing effectiveness.</li> <li>Track audit findings and remediation efforts; report progress to leadership.</li> <li>Foster a culture of compliance, integrity, and continuous improvement across the organization.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><h2>Qualifications:</h2><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field</li> <li>CPA or CIA required. CRMA, CFE, CISA is a plus</li> <li>7+ years of experience in internal controls or internal audit and enterprise risk management.</li> <li>At least 5 years of experience leading teams.</li> <li>Big 4 financial audit or risk assurance/consulting professional services experience preferred.</li> <li>Previous SOX or ICFR implementation experience.</li> <li>Experience in enterprise risk management with strong knowledge of risk assessment, risk mitigation, and reporting.</li> <li>Experience applying advanced knowledge level of accounting practices (GAAP/IFRS), internal controls, and systems for relevant business processes.
