AECOM is seeking an initiative-taking Electrical Engineer with an electrical engineering background to support mining projects in the planning and design phases.Job Summary/Responsibilities<ul><li>Technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team.</li><li>Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.</li><li>Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.</li><li>Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.</li><li>Provides guidance to entry level engineers.</li><li>Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.</li><li>Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and designs.</li><li>Proposes approach to solve problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.</li><li>Identifies discrepancies in results and presents alternative solutions to solve the identified discrepancies.</li><li>Serve as lead electrical engineer or discipline lead on mid- to large size projects.</li><li>Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.</li><li>Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.</li><li>Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.</li><li>Complete calculation packages for the sizing of electrical equipment.</li><li>Develop reports in Microsoft Word to communicate the technical results of the calculations or design packages, including summaries, figures, tables, methodologies, and explanations.</li><li>Perform early project design work such as conceptual studies, electrical loads, equipment sizing and selection, datasheets, and general arrangements.</li><li>Develop design documents including electrical equipment, material specifications, equipment specifications and vendor data requirements.</li><li>Perform detailed technical bid analyses for electrical equipment and electrical systems.</li><li>Review of vendor shop drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards as well as project specific requirements.</li><li>Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.</li><li>Ensure the required services meet project requirements on time and within budget.</li><li>Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually and in a team environment.</li><li>Provides project leadership in the areas of electrical engineering and design, investigations, analysis on multi-disciplinary mining projects.</li><li>Coordinate and direct staff on designs, specifications, drawings, figures, reports, and calculations on multi-discipline design efforts.</li><li>Work with existing and potential clients to provide electrical engineering and design solutions on mining projects.</li><li>Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.</li></ul>
