<div> About the role The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for direct raw material suppliers. This role ensures timely acquisition of quality goods and services while maintaining cost efficiency, supplier relationships, and compliance with organisational policies. Duties and Responsibilities <ul><li style="margin-left:8px;">Place and manage purchase orders with relevant Raw material suppliers, ensuring timely delivery through consistent follow-up and coordination.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs); analyse bids, conduct bid evaluations, and present recommendations for approval.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and value for money.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Conduct market research and due diligence to identify and evaluate potential vendors.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding the status of procurement requests.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Monitor inventory levels and proactively place replenishment orders to avoid stockouts.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Convert end-user requests into Procurement Requests and Purchase Orders; ensure timely approvals and follow-ups.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Collaborate with warehouse staff to plan for inbound deliveries and ensure optimal storage arrangements.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Foster strong communication and maintain professional relationships with suppliers.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Work closely with engineering and warehouse teams to procure spare parts, consumables, and production materials as per technical specifications.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Execute online purchases in coordination with the finance department, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Maintain accurate and organized procurement documentation and filing systems.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Update weekly cash forecasts to inform supplier payment schedules in line with negotiated terms.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Conduct vendor appraisals and analyze supplier performance for continuous improvement.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Maintain and update the Preferred Supplier List.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;margin-bottom:13px;">Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul>Skills and Experience<ul><li style="margin-left:8px;">Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a similar procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Fundamental understanding of procurement best practices, vendor management, and contract negotiation.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
