They have knowledge of fundamental concepts and procedures.     Job Title:   Solar Tech I Job Code:  J9916 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt - Bargaining Unit    Job Summary:The Solar Tech is primarily responsible for providing support to multiple PV plant sites located throughout Duke Energy Florida's service territory on a continual/on-demand basis, in order to troubleshoot/resolve equipment issues such as emergency repairs, design change requirements, and equipment modifications and to establish O&amp;M support for new plant(s) start-up as well as long term operation and maintenance.    Role will include work scheduling, maintenance, equipment installation, and start-up support.  Position will also be responsible for supporting existing equipment performance and reliability, work to support equipment testing schedules and assigning contracts, technicians, and engineers to appropriate tasks while developing processes to improve O&amp;M output quality.   Responsibilities and Duties: <ul><li>Troubleshoot, resolve equipment issues</li><li>Design change requirements, and equipment modifications</li><li>Scheduling maintenance, installation, and start-up support. </li><li>Position will also be responsible for supporting existing equipment performance and reliability</li><li>Support equipment testing schedules and assigning contract testers, technicians, and engineers to appropriate tasks while developing processes to improve O&amp;M output quality</li><li>Ensures compliance with all operational, environmental and other regulatory and policy compliance requirements.  Monitors station environmental, health and safety objectives and ensures they are met</li><li>Provides leadership and accountability in order to achieve desired safety results (Lock Out Tag Out compliance, safety meeting attendance, contractor oversight, safety policies/procedures, work practices, etc.)</li></ul><h2>Basic/Required Qualifications: </h2><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>0-1 years of electrical maintenance or Solar PV Systems experience.  </li><li>Valid driver's license  </li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications: </h2><ul><li>Associates Degree or Technical Certification /Training in the electrical field with a year or more experience, preferably in power plant or related technical industry.</li><li>2 years technical training or military training in electrical maintenance or Solar PV Systems </li><li>Working knowledge of power distribution systems </li><li>Previous experience working with inverters, electrical design, Maximo CMMS, centralized SCADA/EMS control systems and associated network devices. </li><li>Knowledge of National Electrical Code </li><li>2 or more years of electrical maintenance or Solar PV Systems experience. </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. </li><li>Ability to work independently.</li><li>Familiarity with electrical test and measuring equipment.  </li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>Field Mobility Classification – Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period.
