Here is what you will do:1. Design, Development, and Implementation:<ul><li>Lead the design of secondary circuits and protection &amp; control systems for HV substations (69kV to 500kV+).</li><li>Coordinate and develop schematics, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, cable schedules, and panel layouts.</li><li>Design and configure protective relays (SEL, GE, Siemens, ABB), automation controllers (PLCs/RTUs), and protocol gateways.</li><li>Ensure robust integration of SCADA, IEC 61850, DNP3, and Modbus protocols within T&amp;D automation systems.</li><li>Collaborate with primary system engineers to align interface requirements and ensure electrical coordination.</li><li>Oversee hardware and I/O design for control panels and interface systems.</li></ul>2. Leadership &amp; Project Management:<ul><li>Provide technical leadership, guidance, and task assignments to a team of junior and mid-level electrical engineers.</li><li>Assist Project Managers and Lead Engineers in developing technical proposals, design budgets, and project schedules.</li><li>Monitor project execution and quality, ensuring that deliverables meet client expectations and internal standards.</li><li>Lead interdisciplinary coordination meetings and design reviews.</li><li>Act as Technical Lead on multi-discipline projects, representing the secondary systems team internally and externally.</li></ul>3. Testing, Commissioning &amp; Support:<ul><li>Develop and oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) procedures for control and protection systems.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve design issues during commissioning and energization phases.</li><li>Interface with construction and field engineering teams to ensure the seamless execution of installation and testing activities.</li><li>Review and analyze relay event records and SCADA data post-commissioning to validate system performance.</li></ul>4. Documentation &amp; Quality Assurance:<ul><li>Generate and review comprehensive documentation packages, including:</li><li>Protection &amp; Control (P&amp;C) Basis of Design</li><li>Settings files and coordination studies</li><li>SCADA points lists and communication network architecture</li><li>QA/QC checklists for engineering deliverables</li><li>Perform peer reviews and enforce quality assurance standards across engineering outputs.</li><li>Ensure documentation complies with NERC, IEEE, IEC, and client-specific requirements.</li></ul>5. Technical Innovation and Standards Compliance:<ul><li>Stay current on advancements in digital substations, IEC standards, cybersecurity practices, and substation automation.</li><li>Standardize and optimize secondary design templates, libraries, and workflows.</li><li>Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve system reliability and engineering efficiency.</li></ul>
