The BA will work within an Agile team alongside software engineers, working on the next generation of strategic back-office applications, ensuring the solutions are at the required quality to be released. The BA will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and delivering data-driven recommendations to support decision-making.Role Responsibilities:<ul><li>Work closely with the Product Owner to understand the product vision, roadmap, and priorities, while ensuring that product features align with strategic goals and user expectations.</li><li>Own/Shape/Refine a migration sequence at client/desk/asset class level across multiple trading regions.</li><li>Coordinate, hold and lead requirements gathering and process definition workshops with the business.</li><li>Proactively ensure project (functional + non-functional) requirements are captured and signed off by key senior Business and Technology stakeholders.</li><li>Challenge stakeholders or other Technology teams where requirements or solutions are not in line with wider strategy, or lead to increased risk.</li><li>Form part of an Agile Delivery POD/Team with specific accountabilities around Story refinement,  achieving DoR, DEV/QA handovers, Test support.</li><li>Transpose hi-level functional requirements into granular JIRA stories with sufficient granularity as to achieve DoR(Definition of Ready).</li><li>Ensuring that current &amp; target state data &amp; process flows are clearly documented in JIRA’s as appropriate. </li><li>Complete handover of JIRA’s to Developers as part of the DoR stage-gate.</li><li>Work with QA’s to ensure test approaches and test AC’s align with the functional objective of each story.</li><li>Understand and challenge requirements; proactively raise risks and issues to the Project Manager where identified.</li><li>Support testing phases (SIT, UAT etc) and end user training.</li><li>Take responsibility for the quality of Business Analysis work within the same business line, peer review work and provide feedback.</li><li>Manage ad-hoc tasks as required.</li><li>Ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.</li><li>Report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as described in the policy.</li></ul>Experience / CompetencesEssential<ul><li>Minimum 8 years of experience in a Business Analyst role within complex technology-driven environments.</li><li>A good understanding of the front-to-back trade lifecycle, including client facing UI, trading, middle/back-office and reference data.</li><li>Understanding of the full project life cycle from requirements capture through to implementation and delivery.</li><li>Proficient at data analysis tasks using basic SQL, understand the data requirements from upstream/downstream.</li><li>Ownership of functional specs.</li><li>Proven experience of Big data migrations/Data Integration/Data analysis across at client/desk/asset class level. </li><li>Previous experience operating as a Senior Business Analyst in Financial Services Technology, ideally within an Agile development environment. </li><li>Strong understanding of financial products and their data characteristics.</li><li>Big data analysis using SQL, Python or equivalent tooling to identify functional and non-functional requirements. </li><li>UML modelling for functional workflow and requirements. </li><li>Highly proficient in Excel, pivots etc. It is key the successful candidate can digest large data extracts, reconcile them and/or turn them into meaningful dashboard summaries.  </li><li>Solid understanding of HL Architecture/Technical Designs, and specifically which components are impacted by specific requirements, understanding downstream impacts.  </li><li>XML/BML/fpML Experience. </li><li>Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management at all levels; strong presentation skills, collab tools.  </li><li>Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for data integration projects.</li><li>Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills, ability to work to tight deadlines.</li><li>Analyse and map data flows between different financial systems and applications.</li><li>Ability to work on multiple projects whilst managing multiple deadlines and differing priorities.</li><li>Ability to self-start, identify tasks required independently to fulfil project deliverables and work as a team member.</li><li>Writing skills - ability to produce documents in a clear, accurate and compelling manner.</li><li>Results oriented and personal accountability. </li><li>Excellent attention to detail, highly organised with a proactive approach.</li><li>Skilled in Microsoft applications software, inclusive of MS Visio and / or BPMN 2.0.</li></ul>Desirable<ul><li>Candidates having previous experience whereby JIRA formed the golden source of truth for large transformation projects are highly desirable.</li><li>MI &amp; Regulatory Reporting will be a significant part of this role.
