This position is accountable for providing proactive, solution-oriented and strategic legal and compliance advice to the Engine Power Plant business in AFEU area and to global Business Unit functions. You will be part of a global legal team and report to the Head of Legal, Engine Power Plants in Wärtsilä Energy Business. You will be a member of the Area management team.  The preferred locations are Helsinki, Vaasa and Turku in Finland. We offer a flexible hybrid working model.  Your work will focus on these responsibilities:  <ul><li>Provide solution-oriented and proactive legal and compliance support to the Engine Power Plant Business in AFEU Area and to Business Unit functions.</li><li>Review, negotiate, draft and advise on various types of transactions and commercial contracts, including equipment supply and EPC contracts with customers and subcontracts and procurement contracts with the supply chain.</li><li>Provide legal support to project execution teams and manage and resolve claims and disputes.</li><li>Manage external counsel.</li><li>Provide governance and compliance support to business.</li><li>Actively participate in the development of new business concepts and initiatives, as well as to the development and implementation of policies, work processes and contract templates.</li><li>Lead and manage workload allocation in a virtual team setting.</li><li>Coach and support colleagues.</li><li>Undertake responsibilities as a member of the Area management team.</li></ul>  To succeed in the position, we expect you to meet the following requirements:  <ul><li>Qualified to practise law in a relevant civil or common law jurisdiction, with a law degree from a reputable university.</li><li>A minimum of 8 years of work experience in either an in-house or a private practice role, with experience in commercial or corporate transactions in international setting. Experience from energy sector is seen as a plus.</li><li>Excellent command of English; ability to draft and negotiate. Other language skills are a plus.</li><li>Experience or demonstrated interest in team leadership.</li><li>Excellent negotiation and influencing skills coupled with commercial acumen and strategic thinking.</li><li>Solid drafting, presentation and communication skills.
