Common activities include designing, testing, calculations, data analysis, and writing reports. The design process includes but is not limited to:<ul><li>Thorough understanding of customer’s requirements – both articulated and unarticulated</li><li>Rigorous scientific method of product design – Fact based design – Test first – Statistically significant data collection – Repeatability of test results.</li><li>Timely completion</li><li>Effectively managing harness development projects to meet or exceed customer’s expectations.</li><li>Supporting Production for multi-channel products. This includes:</li><li>Process development &amp; documentation, troubleshooting process problems, developing &amp; improving tooling.</li><li>Create 3D models, engineering drawings, work instructions.</li><li>Create test reports.</li><li>Apply Design-For-Manufacturing and Design-For-Assembly as much as possible.</li><li>Follow prototype and first builds through the assembly floor.</li><li>Get feedback from operators and apply things learned to improve design and assembly process.</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Engineering degree from 4-year program required – BSME (Mechanical Engineering) preferred.</li><li>5+ years' experience with microwave products required.</li><li>Experience with creating 3D Models of components and assemblies in CAD – Autodesk Inventor a plus.</li><li>Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Proficiency with software, including Excel and Word. Experience with MRP/ERP system desirable.</li><li>Some experience with working at or internship with a manufacturing company is preferred.
