Our motors range in size from 30 kW to 30 MW and are 3X lighter than competitors’ systems.   As a Power Electronics Intern at H3X Technologies, you will contribute to the design, testing, and validation of breakthrough power electronic systems for next-generation electric propulsion. You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience with high-voltage systems and the manufacturing processes that take ideas from concept to production. We are open to hiring interns in 3 month, 6 month, or longer internships, in different time periods based on availability. Key Responsibilities<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Assist in the design, simulation, and testing of power electronic hardware </li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Support the development and validation of PCB assemblies and wire harnesses, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement new processes</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Conduct simulations and performance analyses using industry-standard tools (MATLAB, LTspice, Simulink) to validate system performance and identify optimization opportunities</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for hardware issues, assisting in implementing corrective actions and documenting outcomes</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Assist with test setup, measurement, and evaluation of prototypes and production units, including high-voltage system operation under lab safety guidelines</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Contribute to technical documentation, including test reports and manufacturing instructions for PCB and wire harness assemblies</li></ul><ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px;margin-left:8px;">Stay updated on latest trends and advancements in power electronics</li></ul> Required Qualifications<ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px;">Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Strong electronics fundamentals and project-based electronics experiences</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Organized with attention to detail</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Experience or interest in high-voltage systems, power electronics, electric motors</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;margin-left:8px;">Curious and motivated by first principles</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li style="margin-left:8px;">Coursework or experience in power electronics principles—including converter topologies, semiconductor devices, etc.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Familiarity with PCB design tools (Altium preferred)</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Experience in simulation tools such as MATLAB, LTspice, Simulink, or similar</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Hands-on experience with circuit prototyping and troubleshooting; comfort with lab instruments and small hand tools</li></ul><ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px;margin-left:8px;">Experience with scripting and/or software development (Python, C, etc.)</li></ul><div style="margin-bottom:11px;margin-left:8px;"> Compensation</div><ul><li style="margin-bottom:11px;margin-left:8px;">$23.00 - $37.00 / hr based on school level &amp; experience</li></ul> </div>
