Are you ready to be a part of a team committed to changing the world?</p></div><h2>Who You Are</h2><p>Sila Nanotechnologies is looking for an experienced Project Manager for our Operations team to drive the planning and management of new battery material manufacturing facility projects. Your projects will enable and improve novel manufacturing processes at our Alameda, CA manufacturing site. In this role, you will coordinate between our internal departments and external partners to adhere to project management processes and achieve schedule and cost goals. You’ll balance rigorous scope, schedule, and budget management with quick decision-making and be comfortable with ambiguity. You’ll lead internal teams and manage external engineering and construction partners to drive execution, tracking, and reporting to meet our capital project objectives at Sila.</p><h2>Responsibilities and Duties  </h2><ul><li>Direct and track key phases of Sila large and small capital projects including: project planning, site development, permitting, contracts, front-end and detailed design, construction, startup, and closeout</li><li>Own overall project budget and schedule. With the Project Controls team, prepare and report weekly updates on progress, budget, schedule, and risks. </li><li>Serve as the single-point coordinator across all Sila teams and stakeholders on the project</li><li>Manage relationships with engineering partners, contractors, and other external parties; provide clear direction on priorities, schedule, and project coordination to ensure deadlines are met</li><li>Manage change order requests, approvals, documentation, and record-keeping</li><li>Build out and launch new project management processes and tools at Sila, using past experience and industry best practices</li></ul><h2>Knowledge and Skill Requirements </h2><ul><li>Minimum of 8 years experience in project management, including brownfield construction projects, retrofits, refurbishment, etc.</li><li>Bachelor’s Degree in a planning, science, engineering, or construction management discipline</li><li>Skilled in strategic planning, budget management, schedule management, change management, risk management, and driving project execution</li><li>Ensure deliverables are resourced appropriately and re-assign or re-prioritize as needed</li><li>Strong track record of managing contractors to baseline schedules and budgets</li><li>Proven communication and meeting-management skills, across external and internal teams</li><li>Ability to anticipate potential issues and make high-pressure decisions within ambiguity</li><li>PMP certification desired</li><li>Travel to build sites and contractors’ offices for design and construction support</li></ul><h2>Physical Demands and Working Conditions</h2><ul><li>Move long distances and be stationary for extended periods of time</li><li>Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes</li><li>Occasionally kneel or bend</li><li>Up to 25% travel (potential for higher during critical construction and start-up activities) to and from build sites and contractors’ design office</li></ul><p>Regular Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm</p><p>The starting base pay for this role is between $151,000 and $218,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills.
