The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project/land development, with 5+ years of solar and energy storage or comparable industry experience.  You will be hybrid out of our Washington, DC office and will report to the Vice President, Business Development. What you’ll do:  <ul><li>Originate and develop distributed solar and energy storage projects, simultaneously managing site origination, permitting, interconnection, tax negotiation, revenue contracting, title review, and other development activities. </li><li>Develop sales presentations, proposals, and other materials as needed to support project development efforts. </li><li>Negotiate complex contracts with private, commercial, and municipal counterparties.  </li><li>Manage long-term relationships with property owners, energy users, and other project stakeholders. </li><li>Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and community members to facilitate project permitting and other initiatives.  </li><li>Foster support from state, county, and local governments, community groups, and project abutters. </li><li>Manage external consultants as needed in conjunction with project permitting activities. </li><li>Maintain development schedule and budget to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions. </li><li>Support internal finance, engineering, and construction teams to facilitate successful project financing and construction. </li><li>Up to 60% travel is required; some evening and weekend work required. </li></ul>What you’ll bring: <ul><li>5+ years of solar and storage or comparable industry experience in a business development role, with a successful track record in project/land development and stakeholder management.</li><li>Proven experience bringing projects from site origination through the various stages of project development to shovel-ready status.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.</li><li>Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.   </li><li>Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
