<h2><span style="color:rgb(0, 20, 60);">What The Role Is</span></h2><p>Reporting to the Wind Site Lead, the Evening Shift Wind Technician is responsible for assisting in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electric component maintenance during the evening. The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable operation of wind turbines.</p><p>This position will be expected to troubleshoot turbine faults, resolving issues quickly with a condensed team on an evening shift. </p><p>Wind Technician levels are defined below, and the ranges will be determined based on the qualifications met and site location. </p><p>Pay Ranges by Job Level:</p><p>Wind Technician I ($45,000 - $66,000)</p><p>Wind Technician II ($52,000 - $74,000)</p><p>Wind Technician III ($63,000 - $90,000)</p><h2><span style="color:rgb(0, 20, 60);">What You'll Be Doing</span></h2><p>Level I</p><ul><li>Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices, and maintain a safe working environment.</li><li>Assist in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance.</li><li>Documents all work performed, parts used, and time spent using computer-based service reporting procedures.</li><li>Assist in troubleshooting and repair of SCADA communication systems.</li><li>Operate and maintain a service vehicle.</li><li>Maintain hand tools in good working order and well-organized.</li><li>Work a flexible on-call schedule when needed. This may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>Willingness to progress as a technician and take guidance from superiors.</li><li>Help in all areas of site operations as directed by the Site Lead and Site Manager with minimal supervision.</li><li>Work a flexible on-call schedule when needed. This may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>Other duties as assigned within the level I scope.</li></ul><p>Level II &amp; III (Additions)</p><ul><li>Troubleshoot complicated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed wind turbines.</li><li>Assist in the training and development of lower-level operation and maintenance personnel.</li><li>Perform all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance, repair, and replacement to correct malfunctions.</li><li>Read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.</li><li>Use electrical test equipment to assist in troubleshooting and testing.</li><li>Lead maintenance and troubleshooting crews as necessary.</li><li>Safely perform LOTO and mentor lower-level technicians in LOTO.</li><li>Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required.</li><li>Other duties as assigned within the level II or III scope, respectively.</li></ul><h2><span style="color:rgb(0, 20, 60);">What You'll Bring</span></h2><p>Level I</p><ul><li>A high school diploma or GED is required, or willing to obtain one within the first 6 months of employment.</li><li>Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet. The job will require standing outside the nacelle and nosecone at the top of the turbine. Able to work safely in a confined space.</li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.</li><li>Possess demonstrable mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.
