This includes use of heavy equipment (loaders, crane and ship loader) to safely load bulk unpackaged materials. Follow all regulations and safety guidelines to meet load rates and quality targets. </p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Follow all workplace and job safety procedures</li><li>Ensure vessel is loading correctly (load rate, gate control, fine mitigation)</li><li>Understand load plan and maintain to customer satisfaction</li><li>Keep accurate records of cargo handled, including weights, measurements and quantities</li><li>Operator heavy equipment on vessel - loaders, cranes, and ship loader</li><li>Perform equipment inspections and all rigging</li><li>Identify upset conditions or potential failure points</li><li>Basic mechanical troubleshooting, enter work orders and assist maintenance with repairs</li><li>Keep areas clean, neat and orderly to meet housekeeping standards</li><li>Communicate to Operations team, including ship crew</li><li>Other related duties as assigned and service as a backup resource as needed</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li> Ability to work multiple shift schedules and rotating shifts as required</li><li>Excellent communication skills</li><li> Ability to independently manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications - What Will Set You Apart</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED</li><li>Previous experience with bulk material loading</li><li>Previous experience in Maritime industry</li><li>Mechanical aptitude<strong><br></strong></li></ul><p><strong>Working conditions</strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to work in outdoor environment and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees</li><li>Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment </li><li>Work includes high places more than 175 feet, use main lifts and work in confined spaces</li><li>Willing and able to maintain a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment</li><li>Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues with or without notice</li></ul><p><strong>Physical requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and crawling and pulling for up to twelve (12) hours per day</li><li>Able to work in high places more than 175 feet, use man lifts and work in confined spaces</li><li>Able to work around moving equipment and machinery</li><li>Able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs</li><li>Able to safety and successfully perform and essential job functions consistent with ADA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards</li></ul><div><p><strong>EEO Statement </strong></p><p>Enviva is dedicated to the principles of equal employment opportunity (EEO) in any term, condition or privilege of employment.
