SCS offers remote working arrangements for our team servicing clients around the globe. There is tremendous growth in the circular economy industry, including renewable fuels and technologies to chemically recycle plastic waste materials. This growth in the circular economy has been accompanied by increased interest in certification programs designed for this industry, including ISCC EU, ISCC PLUS, RSB Advanced Products, and other similar certification initiatives.The Technical Specialist II, ISCC APAC position requires a technical background in agricultural, chemical, or industrial processes, as well as a passion to work on environmental sustainability issues. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and comfortable working independently, and also has a technical background in the concepts around industrial processing and quality systems. This position will contribute to our existing ISCC and RSB certification teams, primarily conducting audits (on-site and remotely), technical/quality reviews, and supporting in the administration of the program.Relevant Standards/Schemes<ul> <li>International Sustainability &amp; Carbon Certification (ISCC)</li> <li>Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB)</li> <li>Other programs in the EBC division, as needed</li></ul>Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Management<ul> <li>Conduct both onsite and desk audits according to the standard and verification requirements as assigned</li> <li>Perform required data checks for inventory data and data management systems</li> <li>Participate in the development of risk assessment and verification plan</li> <li>Complete audits by adhering to the agreed timeline, reporting deliverables, and professional requirements</li> <li>Lead the documentation, communication, and closure of audit findings</li> <li>Contribute to the development of verification report and verification statement</li> <li>Communicate in a timely and professional manner with internal staff and external clients</li></ul>Auditing and Technical Expertise<ul> <li>Complete clear technical audit reports with increasing complexity (expansive scope, complex industry, standard), including applicable calculations, interpretation of testing results, and research</li></ul>Quality and Program Development<ul> <li>Deliver verification services in accordance with SCS Corporate and Program Quality requirements, in addition to participation in periodic internal and external accreditation audits</li> <li>Manage the SCS quality management system through maintenance of competency records including training log, completed calibration activities, and up to date knowledge of SCS program and external scheme requirements</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Sciences, or related) and</li> <li>3+ years of experience working in a related sector</li> <li>Excellent technical writing, observation, and data management skills</li> <li>Strong communication abilities and demonstrated abilities in critical analysis</li> <li>Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines</li> <li>Complete fluency in English and Japanese with work experience that involves professional verbal and written communication</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; advanced level in Excel</li> <li>Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently; responsive and adaptive</li> <li>Passionate about working on environmental sustainability issues</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul> <li>Master's Degree in a relevant field</li> <li>Additional language proficiency</li></ul>The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
