To exercise global leadership in the communication, implementation and reinforcement of purchasing strategies.</div>LocationViana do Castelo ETTS plant, PortugalKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<ul><li>Supervise, train and guide Commodity Buyers (CB) in the area of competence.</li><li>Support the purchasing team in negotiations</li><li>Support and maintain global commodity strategies in alignment with global commodity managers.</li><li>Define and standadize the work flow for Buyers</li><li>Coordinate the cost reduction activities</li><li>Support for buyers in multifunctional teams including engineering, program management, supplier development, logistics and manufacturing.</li><li>Occasionally travel to vendors for site risk assessments and make revisions to new component releases.</li><li>Responsible for supporting BorgWarner's new technology products, identifying and developing new technologies in suppliers.</li><li>Validate and develop action plans to minimize the impact of high-risk suppliers.</li><li>Key Contact for supplier relationship, with internal functions (i.e. Logistics, production, etc.)</li><li>Track and report BSC metrics.</li><li>Lead corrective action measures to the Purchasing function of the plant</li><li>This person may have to lead complex and / or crucial negotiations with suppliers, in line with existing strategies.</li><li>Continuously improve the health, safety and environmental conditions of the team.</li><li>Communicate and strengthen safe working procedures.</li><li>Develop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and a process of involvement in the process among workers in all areas.</li></ul>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Management or related field</li><li>5 or + yeares of experience in Supply Chain area</li><li>Experience in procurement processes strongly preferred.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.</li><li>Experience in SAP purchasing module strongly preferred.
