The team workload ranges from feasibility studies, preliminary / detail design and on-site management, working with mainly public sector clients.We are currently looking for a Principal Engineer to support a variety of highway and traffic engineering projects. The role will suit a self-motivated individual who is aspiring to take a lead role in project delivery and manage dynamic teams delivering high quality projects mainly covering:<ul><li>Optioneering, concept, preliminary and detail design associated with all aspects of highway improvement schemes</li><li>Contract preparation</li><li>Active travel design</li><li>Bus priority</li><li>Supporting OBC design</li><li>Traffic Regulation Order preparation</li><li>Site management opportunities</li></ul>Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>To be commercially aware and able to lead a team of 3-5 engineers and technicians, to programme workloads and successfully deliver projects to time, budget and quality</li><li>Provide wide ranging Highways and Traffic engineering design and project management expertise to delivery multi-disciplined schemes and manage small and medium work packages and projects</li><li>Interface with the Client as necessary to deliver the work</li><li>Experience in the preparation of contract drawings and specifications and writing contract documents and technical reports</li><li>Responsibility for managing the workloads and technical oversight of small team of junior engineers and technicians</li><li>Coaching, mentoring and developing the team</li><li>Being Project Manager for multiple projects while delivering on specific project outcomes in relation to time, budget and quality required</li><li>Reviewing of project deliverables before they are issued</li><li>Be part of a bidding team when required and contribute to work winning and to undertake business development to win new business </li><li>To be able to produce and have knowledge in the design of highways, access roads and infrastructure of projects including the design of road geometry, earthworks, pavements, drainage and underground services</li></ul>Current &amp; Upcoming Projects: A few examples include:<ul><li>Continuing work with Liverpool City Council who we have been delivering projects for over the past 6 years. We are on the Liverpool City Council PSF and are currently working on The Strand Phase 2 and Anfield High Street.</li><li>Exciting long-term works lined up over the next 10 years with KMBC, covering a wide range of engineering principles and disciplines.</li><li>Working with WBC on their BSIP, delivering the construction package for the A49 project and various active travel schemes through their LUF.</li></ul>Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression.
