We look for individuals that embody the qualities of being passionate about their work, can put the team first, have an ownership mindset, be optimistic realists, and on the throttle!  Summary of Position: Zero Motorcycles is looking for a capable Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join the Electrical Systems Department to own the design and development of Vehicle Controllers and Battery Management Systems from concept to production using automotive industry development tools while meeting Quality, Cost and Timing targets with appropriate suppliers. We are looking for an individual that enjoys a position in which new technologies are to continuously improve our products and offerings. This individual should be capable of understanding requirements to convey tasks needed to meet new design challenges and demonstrate experience relentlessly tracking down details required to successfully resolve each task championed. What you will do: <ul><li>Develop requirements, specifications, Design schematics and electrical assemblies using test-driven-development to meet project performance requirements. </li></ul><ul><li>Planning using MS Project or similar, to track development activities including Development of requirements, Designing, Ordering, Design Validation of PCBAs and electrical components </li></ul><ul><li>Communicate requirements clearly for software/firmware features required to support new component integration. </li></ul><ul><li>Conduct Design Reviews, Peer reviews of designs, features, and marketing/engineering specifications </li></ul><ul><li>Work with component vendors to qualify parts to meet the needs of the system architecture </li></ul><ul><li>Balance priorities to deliver design qualified and manufactured products on program schedules </li></ul><ul><li>Provide production-release support  </li></ul>What you will bring: Education/Experience: <ul><li>BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar area or equivalent experience </li></ul><ul><li>5+ years’ experience designing and producing PCBAs with both digital and analog circuits. </li></ul><ul><li>Hands-on debug and bring up of PCBAs with embedded processors. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with Electric Vehicles required. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with EV BMS design is a plus. </li></ul>  Skills and Attributes <ul><li>Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with embedded software systems. </li></ul><ul><li>Process-oriented design, test, and documentation practice. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience using Automotive development processes. </li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency in using lab equipment (Power supplies, Oscilloscopes, Multimeters). </li></ul><ul><li>Strong documentation and technical writing skills with attention to detail. </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent communication skills with internal and external teams.  </li></ul> Other Requirements (if applicable) <ul><li>M1 Licensed motorcycle rider a plus </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to travel as required (~10%) either domestically or internationally. </li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Ability to communicate in real-time with internal and external partners</li><li>Candidate must be able to sit for long periods of time to perform duties, and to move around and make inquiries from other staff, management as needed. </li><li>While a significant portion of this work is done either in face-to-face meetings, or sitting for long periods of time working at a computer, the role also requires the ability to navigate a lab environment</li><li>Ability to lift up to 30 pounds</li><li>Ability to bend or stoop down to access equipment</li></ul> We believe diversity is our strength, and inclusion is our foundation.
