Join us. AECOM is seeking a Senior Tunnel Ventilation and Fire Protection Engineer to support our US Transportation Practice in our NYC office.  This position offers a flexible/hybrid schedule or the opportunity to work remotely. Role/Responsibilities of this position include but not limited to: <ul><li>Senior consultancy in design, design optimization and construction administration of Ventilation Fire &amp; Life Safety systems for transit/highway tunnels, overbuilds, industrial, utility, commercial and process facilities across North America and globally</li><li>Develop design criteria manuals, technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications, heating and cooling load calculations, pressure loss calculations for such facilities</li><li>Develop ventilation concepts and strategies for determination of tenability and fire life safety requirements using 1-D Subway Environment Simulation (SES) and 3-D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)</li><li>Optimize ventilation capacities using SES and CFD, space proof, layout and design tunnel ventilation equipment including equipment access and removal plans</li><li>Develop mode of operation table and systems integration with control and monitoring systems</li><li>Work in multidisciplinary teams, review SMEP design drawings to correctly develop models that accurately reflect the tunnels network, station(s) and facilities</li><li>Provide support during commissioning and construction administration activities</li><li>Grow the tunnel vent and underground practice in the firm by the development of pursuit strategies, technical concepts, and proposal technical approaches</li><li>Help identify, attract, and assist in recruiting additional tunneling staff</li><li>Mentor junior tunnel ventilation engineers to strengthen the tunnel ventilation center of excellence </li><li>Publish technical articles in ISAVFT, ASHRAE and other international conferences</li><li>Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large-size projects</li><li>Leads technical client relationships and plays a major role in selling</li><li>Leads discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise</li><li>Leads technical business development work</li><li>Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise</li></ul>
