Blade Repair Technician II - Traveler

We want you to have a sense of belonging and feel valued for your contributions and the perspectives you bring.Summary: The Blade Repair Technician II - Traveler works collectively as part of small team to ensure all tasks are correctly prioritized and conducted in a safe and timely manner at the highest quality. This position performs specialized tasks related to wind turbine blade maintenance and repair, including inspections, as well as the use of platforms and hanging scaffolding. Work tasks involve vertical work, confined space activities such as internal blade inspections or structural repairs, composite and fiberglass repair, sanding, spraying, wearing protective equipment and using tools both up tower, or down tower.&nbsp;Requirements:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <ul><li>Performs material and coatings repairs on various composite structures, including turbine blades and other similar components.</li><li>Follows procedures in the technical documentation provided, to correctly carry out the tasks (ITRs, ITBs, EVRs, etc.). </li><li>Performs professional grade sanding, cutting, grinding, cleaning and lay-up of fiberglass, carbon fiber, coatings, and resin materials.</li><li>Climbs and descends Wind Turbines in a safe manner, utilizing established protocol and guidelines.</li><li>Engages in the safe use and operation of hanging platforms and scaffolds.</li><li>Collaborates with Managers, Leaders and Customer representatives to meet daily contractual obligations</li><li>Interacts with Engineering professionally, with the ability to follow prescribed lamination schedules, to ensure quality and complete repairs </li><li>Gathers, maintains and reports, detailed records and documents. </li><li>Uses appropriate equipment and materials, such as personal protective equipment (PPE), rope access devices, repair tools, cameras etc. assigned for the safe and effective execution of blade inspection and repairs.</li><li>Reports to the supervisor, progress of the work and the results obtained.</li><li>Proposes process or safety improvements </li><li>Participates and assists with JSA, and safety paperwork.</li><li>Participates and assists with LOTO. </li><li>Interfaces with Subcontractors and Owners, in a professional manner. </li><li>Follows company NERC compliance program as required. </li><li>Supports tracking of deliveries on site. </li><li>Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action when needed. </li><li>Reports potentially unsafe conditions immediately. </li><li>Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.</li><li>Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies &amp; Procedures.</li><li>Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.</li><li>Collaborates with Health and Safety as required&nbsp; </li><li>Complies with environmental protection policies&nbsp; </li><li>Identifies and segregates hazardous and non-hazardous waste and deposits them in the specific containers as required.</li></ul>&nbsp;Safety: <ul><li>Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.&nbsp; Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.</li><li>Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.</li><li>Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.</li><li>Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.</li><li>Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.</li><li>Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.</li><li>Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;Qualifications: <ul><li>High school/GED General Education required.</li><li>Associate degree Related Technical Degree preferred.</li><li>Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.</li><li>2+ years or more Related maintenance experience required.&nbsp; </li><li>Basic knowledge of:<ul><li>High voltage electrical power systems</li><li>2m Basket</li></ul></li><li>Intermediate Knowledge<ul><li>Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)</li><li>Low voltage and medium voltage electrical power systems</li><li>Different wind technologies/platforms.</li><li>Safety Data Sheets</li><li>OSHA regulations</li><li>Equipment operation (skid-steer, forklift, etc.)</li><li>Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation </li><li>Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera)</li><li>ANSI/NETA/MTS</li><li>SCADA systems</li></ul></li><li>Advanced<ul><li>Hand tools (orbitals, grinders, stripper, vacuum pumps, meters, etc.)</li><li>Professional knowledge, control, disposal and correct application of the chemical products, used in blade repair (epoxy/polyester resin, polyurethane/methacrylate adhesives, polyurethane paints/coatings, fillers, etc.).</li></ul></li></ul>&nbsp;<ul><li>Functional Competencies Include: Agility, Teamwork, Innovation, Attention to Detail, Ethics &amp; Integrity.</li><li>Domestic travel 76-100% required.</li><li>Valid Driver’s License required.</li><li>Must be able to obtain or possess a DOT Medical Certification to pull trailers. </li><li>Must be able to maintain established physical requirements according to GWO Guidelines. </li><li>Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.</li><li>Bilingual in Spanish (desirable). </li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;Anticipated base salary range: $28.09 - $35.11&nbsp;The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. &nbsp;RES offers benefits that are effective first day of the month following 30 days of full-time employment.
