The Manager of Market Development and Public Policy must be a self-starter, and have skills, experience preparing written and oral testimony or public comments, interacting with California state agencies and the legislature, and a track record of interventions in rate cases in front of public utilities commissions and state agencies. This position is remote, with ideal candidates located in Sacramento or the San Francisco Bay Area.  <br> <br><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></div><div><ul><li>Lead EVgo’s policy efforts in California  </li><li>Develop EVgo’s policy positions and strategy in relation to regulatory and legislative engagement, with a stronger focus on regulatory and state agency engagement </li><li>Draft written testimony and public comments in EV dockets and utility rate cases and regulatory proceedings related to EV charging and rate design and serve as an expert witness as needed. </li><li>Guide internal teams on strategies for obtaining public funding and grant opportunities and engage with government officials and other stakeholders through public processes regarding the implementation of respective state and local public funding programs </li><li>Provide and contribute to shaping thought leadership on policies that will increase transportation electrification</li><li>Manage outside regulatory counsel, rate design  consultants, and lobbyists</li><li>Work collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams and external coalitions of stakeholders, including trade associations, consumer advocates, and NGOs to advance transportation electrification</li><li>Work at the state and municipal levels to identify and craft solutions to alleviate barriers and accelerate the deployment of charging infrastructure</li><li>Strengthen EVgo’s relationships with government officials and state legislative offices Collaborate with EVgo business teams to translate policy into tangible business outcomes on issues related to electricity rates, public funding, and legislation</li></ul></div><div><strong>Qualifications </strong></div><div><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field or equivalent experience in regulatory and policy engagement. </li><li>At least 5 years of relevant work experience on issues related to transportation electrification, clean energy, or energy efficiency. </li></ul></div><div><strong>Desired Skills: </strong></div><div><ul><li>Experience interacting with utilities, the state legislature, public service commissions, and state agencies such as the California Energy Commission,  California PUC or the California Air Resources Board. </li><li>Skillful at navigating regulatory dockets, legislative strategy, and public speaking. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret utility tariffs, regulations, and technical documents; comfortable working regularly with cross-functional teams on translating policy activity to tangible business outcomes. </li><li>Strong writing and presentation skills, with experience drafting public comments </li><li>Fundamental understanding of EV charging technologies, rate design, and utility rate-making process. </li><li>Willingness to take initiative, work through obstacles, and drive projects forward. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. </li><li>Excellent time management and prioritization skills. </li><li>Highly collaborative and team-oriented. </li><li>Self-starter, with comfort and interest in owning outcomes and delivering results. </li></ul></div><div>For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $105,000 USD to $165,000 USD.
