Job Summary: We are seeking a hardworking and motivated General Laborer / Electrical Helper to assist electricians with various tasks on job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations and efficiency in electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs.The Electrician’s Helper, under supervisory direction, will be responsible for wire management on a utility scale solar generation facility. RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Apply knowledge to daily tasks under the supervision of the Lead Solar Electrician</li><li>Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect, install transformers, hook up inverters, knowledge of breakers, and understanding of SCADA equipment</li><li>Perform DC and AC testing including, but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, and insulation resistance testing</li><li>Ensures the vehicle, tooling, electronics, software, and company property issued are accounted for</li><li>Must perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar site equipment and wiring under the supervision of the Lead Solar Electrician </li><li>Work as a solar farm team crew member and have the ability to help the mechanical and/or other departments as needed </li></ul>WORK REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, and protection of fellow team members within OSHA guidelines</li><li>Ability to operate test equipment, such as: voltmeters, meggers, and amp meters </li><li>Must understand the electrical work up to 600/1000 VDC and 480 VAC</li><li>Ability to perform terminations and regular electrical hookup in regard to PV Solar </li><li>Construction experience desired, electrician’s helper or journeyman experience preferred  </li><li>Capable of working non-standard hours</li><li>Able to work with electrical cable at six-foot height from ground level up to 10 hours a day</li><li>Able to lift heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, several times per day</li><li>Regular, reliable and predictable attendance required</li><li>Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment</li><li>Must display a positive attitude dedicated towards achieving results for the company as well as providing quality service and accuracy</li><li>Must be a team player and able to work between multiple departments to reach a common goal</li><li>Must maintain a clean and professional appearance and attitude at ALL times while at work, while representing or traveling for the company</li><li>Responsible for daily upkeep of your work area</li><li>Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime as needed </li><li>Must wear required personal protective equipment at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, etc.)</li><li>Advise immediate supervisor of any safety or job-related problems</li><li>Must comply with all OHSA safety requirements and regulations</li><li>Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments (example: hot sun, cold, wet weather, mud, etc.)</li><li>Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body</li><li>Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time</li><li>Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks</li><li>Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight safely without assistance throughout assigned workday</li><li>Able to work 8 -12 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required including occasional night shifts</li><li>Physical work is a primary part (more than 80%) of the job</li><li>Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers </li></ul>WORKING CONDITIONS:OTHER DUTIES: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
