This is a consultancy-based position so demonstrable experience in a range of sectors and technical fire engineering applications within a client focused environment is required.You will be responsible for overseeing and developing a team of fire engineers within the London office. Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.This position will be well suited to an established consultant looking to take the next step or someone with a desire to work in multi-disciplinary design consultancy and wants to join a well-respected and established fire safety consultancy. What you’ll do!People<ul><li>Lead and manage the team in terms of workload management, project delivery and performance.</li><li>Oversee the successful delivery of the projects within the middle east region, ensuring they meet regulatory requirement and client expectations.</li><li>Collaborate with multi discipline team and national leadership to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standard of quality.</li><li>Lead Performance &amp; Review process for the team by setting and monitoring SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound) goals for team members.</li><li>Carry out staff appraisals of direct reports and ensure they do the same for their direct reports in line with AECOM Performance &amp; Review process.</li><li>Participate in the development of professional development plans for staff and encourage expansion of expertise on different sectors.</li><li>Assist in training and mentoring of staff to ensure technical development of the team in line with the PDPs.</li><li>Provide specialised technical input to studies and designs projects across the middle east portfolio.</li><li>Support and mentors less experienced staff on the road to Chartership.</li></ul>Projects<ul><li>Provide estimates for the fire engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large, complex projects.</li><li>Lead the project delivery on mid to large size projects nationally and internationally.</li><li>Become and AEOCM Approved Lead Verifier - leads strategic direction of projects.</li><li>Become and AECOM Approved project manager and act as project approver.</li><li>Lead technical client relationships and play a major role in attracting new work/ clients.</li><li>Ensure the quality of the work is maintained and delivered to the client within agreed period and budget.
