This role demands high-level systems thinking, simulation and modelling skills, technical judgement, and the ability to make impactful design decisions in areas where the “right” answer is not immediately clear.  The role will include developing the conceptual designs of first-of-a-kind electrical, cooling and protection system solutions.</div><div><br></div><div><b>WHAT YOU WILL DO</b></div><div>- Architect the magnet sub-system of the Alpha stellarator, leveraging  Proxima’s magnet technology and diving into protection and support systems.</div><div>- Closely collaborate with other systems and system leads to ensure alignment and cohesion across the full Alpha concept design.</div><div>- Own magnet system integration challenges, such as neutronics considerations and field quality requirements.</div><div>- Lead the analysis of the integrated Alpha magnet system using analytical models, high fidelity simulations, and first principles reasoning to make and validate key design decisions.</div><div>- Act as key stakeholder for Proxima’s Stellarator Model Coil, ensuring that this prototype magnet effectively informs the Alpha design.  </div><div><br></div><div><b>WHO YOU ARE</b></div><div>- Recognized expertise in superconducting magnets, high-power electrical engineering, or integrated fusion reactor design.</div><div>- Proven track record in systems architecture or leading complex engineering efforts at the subsystem or system level, including conceptual design development and reduced-order analysis.</div><div>- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, making informed decisions with limited data, and managing trade-offs among competing requirements.</div><div>- Experience validating first-of-a-kind designs with uncertain performance through a combination of multi-scale and multi-physics simulations, testing, and prototyping.</div><div>- Demonstrated ability to lead and work within multidisciplinary technical teams in fast-paced, dynamic settings.</div><div>- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively.</div><br><br><h3>INTERVIEW PROCESS</h3><ul><li>Recruiter Interview (30-60 min).</li><li>Technical Screening (30 min).</li><li>Technical Panel (3x60 min).</li><li>CEO call (30 min).</li></ul><br><div><span style="font-size:16px;">At Proxima Fusion, our mission is bold: making limitless clean energy a reality.
