As a Benefit Corporation, we are committed to socially and environmentally responsible business practices, and through the application of sound science, we are driving positive change.Job Overview The Technical Coordinator for the Responsible Sourcing Strategies program in the Food &amp; Agriculture Division works with multiple projects including client-specific responsible and sustainable sourcing programs as well as other programs under development. The primary responsibilities include managing administrative tasks related to communication with clients and auditors, planning U.S. and international audits, technical review and analysis of audit results and related documentation, technical report writing, organizing national and international audit logistics, creating data tracking sheets in Excel and analyzing results, reviewing audit reports and audit-related documentation, organizing and developing trainings, and supporting document and program development. This position reports to the Director of Responsible Sourcing Strategies, and works closely with the Senior Technical Associate and auditors.Relevant Standards/Schemes<ul> <li>Ferrero</li> <li>Fazer</li> <li>Driscoll’s</li> <li>Cooxupe</li> <li>Expocafe</li> <li>Others, as determined</li></ul>Essential Duties and Responsibilities Communication<ul> <li>Manage daily email and Microsoft Teams communications with auditors and clients based in Europe and Latin America and internal team members regularly</li></ul>Audit Coordination and Planning<ul> <li>Ensure consistent flow of audit projects and conduct field observations as needed</li> <li>Prepare audit plans and related audit documents and forms</li> <li>Track and manage audit project milestones and deadlines</li> <li>Manage auditor schedules, workloads, and travel budgets</li> <li>Plan audits and trip itineraries for staff and auditors</li> <li>Conduct review of audit reports completed by staff auditors and regionally based auditors</li> <li>Apply professional judgement on the quality of audit reports</li></ul>Operations<ul> <li>Ensure program compliance with SCS quality system</li> <li>Maintain new, existing, and archived program files in accordance with program requirements</li> <li>Develop and edit program guidance updates, audit report templates, communications and letters as needed</li> <li>Support Technical Associates and auditors to develop training programs and related materials as needed</li> <li>Conduct desk-based and field audits as required (international travel might be required)</li> <li>Research third-party auditing initiatives and responsible sourcing programs and prepare summary reports in support of RSS staff</li> <li>Additional tasks as requested by the Director and Senior Technical Associate</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Environmental Science, Sustainability, Agricultural or Food Systems, International Relations, etc. or</li> <li>2+ years of equivalent work experience</li> <li>Ability to complete time-sensitive projects and to provide realistic deadlines</li> <li>Strong time-management skills</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail</li> <li>Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel</li> <li>Initiative and ability to work independently and use professional judgment; responsive and adaptive</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul> <li>Fluency in another language such as Spanish, Turkish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Mandarin, etc.</li> <li>Scope-specific work or study experience, and/or applied experience in agricultural or food production systems, international settings</li> <li>Experience with database management systems</li> <li>Understanding of food labeling programs and certification initiatives</li> <li>Experience with third-party certification</li> <li>Experience in quantitative/qualitative data collection and analysis</li> <li>Certified Quality Auditor ISO 9001:2008</li></ul>The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
