<h2>Summary</h2><p>In a fast-paced environment, the 6-Month contract position for our Shipper is responsible for shipping the orders and transfers that are related to its Distribution Center. The Shipper will ensure to meet the expectations of our customers using the TMS provided by our Traffic Department, and by working in collaboration with other departments. It is what has made IPEX the responsible choice in North America for over 50 years!</p><h2></h2><p></p><h2><b>Job Responsibilities</b></h2><ul><li><p>Dispatch (assign) orders as they are released, taking into consideration delivery dates and locations. Maintain the sequence of picking according to the priority rating and zoning of the orders</p></li><li><p>Handle and prioritize rush shipments and customer pick-ups</p></li><li><p>Using the rating/transport systems in place (TMS), choose the best possible carriers for each order</p></li><li><p>Dispatch the orders and transfers according to the service and quality standards of IPEX</p></li><li><p>Trace shipments by phone or internet</p></li><li><p>Handle calls regarding orders and customer inquiries. Manage desk for drivers and customer pick-ups</p></li><li><p>Process Bill of Ladings (BOLs) correctly and efficiently. Ensure that the information on said BOLs is accurate and complete</p></li><li><p>Maintain an orderly file system for documents and records (Bill of Lading, Sales Orders, RMAs, etc) as per C-TPAT</p></li><li><p>Other duties as may be assigned</p></li></ul><h2></h2><p></p><h2>Knowledge and Skill Requirements</h2><ul><li><p>Completion of a college degree and/or experience in similar type of environment</p></li><li><p>Must have good writing skills and be fluent in English</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of Microsoft Office ie: Word, Excel and Outlook</p></li><li><p>Must complete certification/training for Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), WHMIS and C-TPAT</p></li><li><p>Forklift Driver Training Certificate is an asset</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication and customer service skills</p></li><li><p>Must be able to handle stress and adapt to workload changes and requests, ability to work independently and in a team environment</p></li><li><p>Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check</p></li></ul><h2></h2><p></p><h2>Working Conditions</h2><p>When working in the office, physical effort is minimal, as it requires occasional carrying and/or lifting of small objects and walking through the warehouse and office areas. Stress is high and is created by the need to prioritize and deadlines.
