This role involves supporting compliance for reactive power requirements, assisting in the development of power flow models, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful project execution.What You’ll Do:<ul><li>Assist in the building of plant specific power flow models critical to successfully guiding projects through the interconnection process including PSSe, PSLF and PSCAD.</li><li>Understand optimal interconnection strategies across major US markets.</li><li>Ensure compliance for reactive power requirements and develop power flow models to support the applications.</li><li>Understand inverter behavior and impacts on electrical transmission systems, ensure compliance with technical interconnection requirements for development projects.</li><li>Maintain current knowledge of relevant utility tariffs, NERC requirements, solar and battery storage facility design, and technical standards.</li><li>Participate in technical discussions with utilities/ISOs for interconnection studies.</li><li>Research, evaluate and report on regulations, tariffs, and new technologies such as storage/battery stand alone and hybrid project configurations.</li></ul>Must-Haves<ul><li>3 or more years’ experience in a similar role.</li><li>Technical background, including experience in transmission systems planning or generator interconnection process, and previous employment with a utility, an ISO, or a renewable energy company.</li><li>Knowledge of transmission systems and long-term transmission plans in US.
