The Senior Auditor will be responsible for successfully delivering on our internal audit plan and strategy. Report on deficiencies by testing the performance of controls against company policies and external regulations</li><li>Prepare and/or assist with documenting audit findings and recommendations through written memos or audit reports that mitigate risk, improve operations, and reduce costs</li><li>Monitor, validate and report on the implementation status of management action plans resulting from audit engagements</li><li>Provide advisory services, investigations, and other ad hoc projects</li><li>Provide effective communication and education of internal control policies</li><li>Provide support to the business to implement operational improvements and to ensure consistency with company policies and external regulations</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<ul><li>University degree and professional accounting designation required (CPA or CIA)</li><li>CFE, CISA, CRMA or other accounting, auditing, fraud, or risk designations considered an asset</li><li>Minimum 3-4 years operational audit and/or internal controls experience</li><li>Experience in manufacturing and waste management industries considered an asset</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication in French is a highly desired asset</li><li>Strong analytical experience with finance and internal controls background</li><li>Ability to identify risks and recommend cost-effective internal controls</li><li>Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint</li><li>Knowledge of GP, Cognos, Hyperion systems and processes is considered an asset</li><li>Expertise in using data analytics software (e.g., ACL/Galvanize) would be an asset</li><li>Experience in using GRC software (e.g., AuditBoard, TeamMate etc.) would be an asset</li><li>Authorized to work and travel as required in Canada and US (~30-50% travel)</li><li>Driver’s license for use in Canada and US to rent vehicles for travel to site audits is required</li></ul>Join us and become part of "Team Green" at GFL Environmental, where your skills and dedication will be valued and rewarded.
