The Accounting team currently consists of 15 members, covering month-end close (general ledger), technical accounting, settlements and financial reporting. </span></div><br><br><h3>Responsibilities and Duties</h3><ul><li><b>Support Daily Accounting Operations and Monthly Close:</b></li><li>Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing support for the journal entries.</li><li>Maintain and reconcile various balance sheet accounts on a timely basis and ensure their accuracy by preparing all necessary documentation for reconciling journal entries.</li><li>Perform account analyses to ensure balances and entries are correct.</li><li>Prepare financial reports in a timely and accurate manner.</li><li>Assist in maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.</li><li>Support the accounts payable function on invoice coding and other queries.</li><li>Support the settlements team on a recurring basis. </li><li>Work closely with other departments, including development, construction, asset management, and treasury, to maintain accurate records and provide accounting support.</li><li>Participate in ad-hoc projects within the accounting department.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Skills</h3><ul><li>2-4 years of relevant accounting experience including with operational assets, and a grasp of accounting principles and internal control environments </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to proactively connect with the company as a remote employee</li><li>Experience with or knowledge of Sage Intacct is a plus</li><li>Comfortable working with and summarizing large data sets using Excel functionality </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Proficient in accounting software and Google applications</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment</li><li>CPA or Pursuing CPA near completion or Masters Degree in Accounting is a bonus </li><li>Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls. </li><div><br></div><div>*A note on qualifications: Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they are able to perform every task in the job description.
