The Head of Coloration is expected to lead a team of approx. 10 team members to service different stakeholders involved. Key Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead the Coloration Team (Lab)</li></ul><ul><li>Joint owner (with R&amp;D) of production scale-up and handover of new product developments.</li></ul><ul><li>Investigating alternate dyeing technologies to assess suitability for manufacturing and customer process requirements.</li></ul><ul><li>Controlling/optimising/supplying product data.</li></ul><ul><li>Drive continuous improvement activities in all technical based activities.</li></ul><ul><li>Providing technical assistance relating to product manufacture to the Quality Assurance Manager.</li></ul><ul><li>Estimate costs and prepare budgets</li></ul><ul><li>Approve maintenance work, purchasing of equipment etc.</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure output meets quality standards.</li></ul><ul><li>Report to management.</li></ul><ul><li>Review of dyeing results in cooperation with customers and the R&amp;D Team.</li></ul><ul><li>Propose innovative solutions to improve product cost and quality.</li></ul><ul><li>Scale up and validate process from the Colorifix Dyehouse (Portugal).</li></ul><ul><li>Provide timely solutions for trouble shooting.</li></ul><ul><li>Certification awareness for dyes products ZDHC, ISO, Oko-Tex.</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare production planning machine wise and ensure proper productivity, and qualities achieving maximum efficiency.</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure the upkeep of machines by defining and implementing preventive maintenance schedules in coordination with the Engineering Department.</li></ul><ul><li>Schedule training to ensure that employees are aware of and conform to SOP's, Safety and Quality norms.</li></ul><ul><li>Some international travel is required to client and subsidiary offices.</li></ul>Professional experience &amp; educational qualification:<ul><li>Textile/dye house chemist.</li></ul><ul><li>At least five years Management experience in textile dyeing.</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of Dye classes &amp; their properties.</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of shade matching by all processes.</li></ul><ul><li>A good technical understanding of the dyeing processes.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience or knowledge of R&amp;D/importance of logging data etc.</li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of manufacturing processes and global distribution networks and be able to use</li></ul><ul><li>innovative technology to resolve problems and implement business solutions.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience in operational KPIs, and reporting / review processes to ensure continuous improvement of the operational performance.</li></ul><ul><li>Trained to intermediate level in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects, Teams and CRM systems.</li></ul><ul><li>Experienced in quality control processes for dyed fabrics.</li></ul>Knowledge, skills and abilities:<ul><li>Approachable, honest and trusting.</li></ul><ul><li>Outstanding communication skills (English and ideally Portuguese).</li></ul><ul><li>Computer literate and ability to navigate databases.</li></ul><ul><li>Willingness to learn and open-mindedness.</li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of start-up mentality.</li></ul><ul><li>Self-organised and independent workstyle.</li></ul><ul><li>Works well as part of a team.</li></ul><ul><li>Analytical and problem-solving approach.</li></ul><ul><li>Able to work in a cross-functional company.</li></ul><ul><li>Resilient, does not give up easily.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to management, suppliers, and partners.</li></ul><ul><li>Structured, analytical way of working and problem solving.</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of methods for process improvement.</li></ul>Language skills:<ul><li>English (mandatory)</li></ul><ul><li>Portuguese (desired)</li></ul> Title: Head of ColorationReports to: CEOLocation: Norwich Research Park Remuneration: Competitive Holidays: 25 + BH Benefits: Pension Scheme, Life Insurance, EMI Share Options, Health Cash Plan, Cycle to Work &amp; Electric Car Scheme, EAP and Wellbeing Budget, Additional Birthday Leave, and Company Social Events.Local Amenities: On-site cafes, on-site nursery, parking Colorifix is an equal opportunity employer.
