The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.You will have strong experience in project engineering in rail systems and signalling, along with experience in real-time system engineering, testing and integration activities, software verification and validation best practices and safety critical techniques. Experience in turnkey projects (within rail signalling) highly desirable, particularly delivering systems such as ETCS, ERTMS and CBTC. Specialised responsibilities:<ul><li>Responsible for delivery of all TMS for the Alliance</li><li>Responsible for the integration of the overall Alliance TMS </li></ul>Key responsibilities:<ul><li>Supports Engineering Manager on preparing reports, attending technical meeting and supporting technical activities</li><li>Implement the technical solution within the assigned scope.</li><li>Monitor document submission in terms of on time, on quality and on respect of Cost budget, according to the Contract, excluding RAMS.</li><li>Execute project technical activities in line with the procedure implementing design and verification process (i.e. design review).</li><li>Ensure that project objectives are clearly communicated to the project team and monitor technical project activities are aligned with the project schedule.</li><li>Ensure the staffing, workload analysis and resource allocation to the specific activities</li><li>Prepare, check and submit TCNs. Once authorized, assure that technical change and variation order are traced and implemented inside design activities and included in the Technology project cost revision.</li><li>Ensure that project technical criticalities/risk list and management is implemented, continuously updated and evaluated with the support of interested Functional Manager, Engineering Manager and Project Manager.</li><li>Execute the correct Document Management (submission and transmittal process), part of the overall Design Management.</li><li>Contribute that correct Configuration Management process is in place.</li><li>Ensure an interface for the technical definition and construction document delivery during execution of on-site activities.</li><li>Guarantee the execution of the Verification activities of project engineering documents and of documents issued by WPLs by monitoring their execution by the Project' WPLs, according to the V&amp;V Plan.</li><li>Contribute to the definition and execution of T&amp;C activities (e.g. acting as interface with other technology unit involved in the project).</li><li>Ensuring all activities undertaken are conducted with due regard to a high level of continuous improvement.</li><li>Ensuring all activities undertaken are conducted with due regard to a high level of safety.</li></ul>Key knowledge and experience:<ul><li>Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with background in Systems Engineering.</li><li>5 + years’ experience in a project management role, and this having this experience in rail, systems and signalling is highly desirable.</li><li>Experience in real-time system engineering; testing and integration activities, software verification and validation best practices and safety critical techniques.</li><li>Estimating and negotiations.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse cultural organization with multiple key stakeholders displaying highly polished interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Experience in effective resource management and working with a large multi-cultural team.</li><li>Strong working relationships with technology providers.</li><li>Agile mindset, able to take prompt decisions in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul>At Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
