This role offers the opportunity to oversee and manage all tax-related activities and governance across multiple jurisdictions, playing a key role in developing and implementing global tax strategies that align with our company's business objectives.Key Responsibilities:Tax Governance:<ul><li>Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations through a robust governance framework.</li><li>Conduct tax risk assessments and implement controls.</li><li>Liaise with auditors for effective tax risk management.</li><li>Build relationships with stakeholders, including tax authorities and advisors.</li><li>Train and support internal teams on tax matters.</li><li>Represent the company in tax audits, disputes, and litigation.</li><li>Develop and monitor transfer pricing structures.</li><li>Identify optimal legal structures.</li></ul>Business Impact Tax Management:<ul><li>Identify changes to taxes and duties via services or new technology components and assess their impact on the business.</li><li>Provide high-level impact analysis to business and external stakeholders.</li><li>Support in identifying projects that could provide value to the group.</li><li>Provide tax advice on international business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and restructuring.</li><li>Monitor changes in international tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.</li></ul>Tax Compliance:<ul><li>Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns across all jurisdictions.</li><li>Oversee the preparation and review of tax provisions and tax disclosures in financial statements.</li><li>Manage the global tax compliance calendar to ensure all deadlines are met.</li><li>Review global monthly tax calculations and tax filings for various jurisdictions.</li><li>Prepare and review required tax documentation and reports.</li></ul>Tax Audits and Controversies:<ul><li>Evaluate requests for information from government officials and develop strategies to defend tax filing positions.</li><li>Provide regular internal staff training on various tax topics.</li></ul>International Tax:<ul><li>Review overseas returns prepared by local management/advisors to ensure accurate reporting.</li><li>Support the accurate preparation of the company’s foreign income tax expense for financial statements.</li><li>Analyse the tax aspects of financial projections and forecasts.</li></ul>Transfer Pricing:<ul><li>Assist with the execution of global transfer pricing policies.</li><li>Monitor international tax developments and support the development of action plans to mitigate adverse consequences.</li><li>Prepare and review transfer pricing documentation and related reports.</li></ul> Knowledge &amp; experience:<ul><li>Extensive experience (8-10 years) in direct and indirect taxes impacting large corporate taxpayers.</li><li>Strong knowledge of international tax laws and regulations.</li><li>Proven track record in developing and implementing global tax strategies.</li><li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Experience with Tax Software (e.g., Tax Integrator) and general ledger packages (SAP, BPC).</li><li>Strong leadership and team management abilities.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li></ul>
