Such projects may include nuclear refurbishment work, or other support infrastructure repair, improvement, and can be expected to span several years. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within scope, and under budget. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and contractors to deliver the correct balance the competing demands of safety, quality, schedule and cost.Key Responsibilities:Project Planning:<ul><li>Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.</li><li>Develop comprehensive project plans, including risk management strategies, resource allocation, and financial forecasting.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of Earned Value Management Techniques and Change Management Processes.</li><li>Establish project milestones and performance benchmarks.</li></ul>Team Leadership and Coordination:<ul><li>Assemble, manage, and motivate cross-functional project teams.</li><li>Foster collaboration and clear communication between team members and stakeholders.</li><li>Assign roles and responsibilities to ensure efficient project execution.</li><li>Ensure that their projects are executed in the field in accordance with applicable procedures for nuclear, conventional, personnel and environmental safety and ensure compliance.</li><li>May act as Contract Manager</li></ul>Project Execution:<ul><li>Ensure the project is fully integrated into associated work management schedules, including online, outage, and MCR (Major Component Replacement) phases.</li><li>Direct and manage project work during execution, ensuring alignment with established timelines and objectives across online, outage, and MCR scopes.</li><li>Monitor and regularly update the project schedule, tracking performance and ensuring milestones are met.</li><li>Report and document all delays, changes, and impacts affecting the project during execution.</li><li>Ensure all project execution aligns with established procedures for nuclear, radiation, industrial and environmental safety.</li></ul>Stakeholder Engagement:<ul><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for your projects.</li></ul><ul><li>Provide regular progress updates and address stakeholder concerns.</li><li>Ensure alignment between project goals and stakeholder expectations.</li></ul>Risk Management:<ul><li>Identify potential project risks, challenges, and bottlenecks.</li><li>Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize impact.</li><li>Monitor and manage compliance with legal, environmental, and safety regulations.</li></ul>Budget and Financial Management:<ul><li>Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.</li><li>Monitor financial performance and address variances promptly.</li><li>Review and approve invoices, change orders, and procurement contracts.</li></ul>Quality Assurance and Monitoring:<ul><li>Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards and specifications.</li><li>Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve issues.</li><li>Oversee the commissioning and handover process.</li></ul>Project Closure:<ul><li>Complete post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and best practices.</li><li>Ensure all contractual obligations are met and maintain project documentation for future reference.</li></ul>Education and Experience:<ul><li>This knowledge is normally acquired through the successful completion of a four-year university education in Engineering or in a related technical field, or by having the equivalent level of education and experience.</li><li>A period of 5-10 years of progressive management experience in a relevant field, including a minimum of 3-5 years direct project management experience or equivalent leadership roles; individuals with lesser years of experience may be considered depending upon needs.</li><li>Demonstrated familiarity with the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®); certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project or Program Management Professional (PMP, PgMP) considered an asset.</li><li>Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including proven ability to adapt to a highly technical project environment.</li><li>Ability to manage key stakeholder interests while at the same time managing conflicting priorities and business interests.</li><li>Experience with project management software and tools, including but not limited to Primavera P6, Eco Sys, Active Risk Manager (ARM), and the Microsoft suite of tools (incl Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook &amp; Power BI).</li></ul>Project CoordinatorThe Project Coordinator is dedicated and detail-oriented and supports the successful execution of large-scale, highly complex projects. In this role, you will assist the Project Manager by coordinating day-to-day activities, tracking progress, and ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, and a passion for working on impactful initiatives. Such projects may include nuclear refurbishment work, or other support infrastructure repair, improvement, and can be expected to span several years.Key Responsibilities:Project Support:<ul><li>Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and documentation.</li><li>Provide administrative support to the Project Manager and project team.</li><li>Monitor project deliverables to ensure they are on track.</li></ul>Coordination and Communication:<ul><li>Facilitate communication among project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and clients.</li><li>Organize and participate in project meetings, capturing meeting minutes and action items.</li><li>Act as a liaison between internal teams and external partners.</li></ul>Documentation and Reporting:<ul><li>Maintain up-to-date and accurate project documentation, such as contracts, permits, and technical specifications.</li><li>Knowledge of Earned Value Management Techniques and Change Management Processes.</li><li>Prepare regular project status reports and distribute them to stakeholders.</li><li>Assist in compiling project presentations and progress summaries.</li></ul>Resource Management:<ul><li>Track resource allocation, ensuring that equipment, materials, and personnel are available as needed.</li><li>Coordinate logistics for the procurement and delivery of materials.</li><li>Assist in managing contracts and vendor relationships.</li></ul>Risk and Issue Tracking:<ul><li>Monitor project risks and issues, escalating them to the Project Manager when necessary.</li><li>Support the development of mitigation plans to address challenges.</li><li>Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.</li></ul>Education and Experience:<ul><li>This knowledge is normally acquired through the successful completion of a four-year university education in Engineering or in a related technical field, or a college certification in Project Management with relevant experience.</li><li>Up to 5 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sector.</li><li>Demonstrated familiarity with the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®); certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project or Program Management Professional (PMP, PgMP) considered an asset.</li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Experience with project management software and tools, including but not limited to Primavera P6, Eco Sys, Active Risk Manager (ARM), and the Microsoft suite of tools (incl Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook &amp; Power BI).</li></ul>Are you ready for a change?Please attach a cover letter and resume, indicating your education and experience as it relates to this opportunity.
