This position requires a passionate engineer with expertise in subjective assessment, electric powertrains, and control theory to calibrate accelerator pedal response, hold functions, and other related systems. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to follow a first-principles approach to solving problems, make data-driven decisions, communicate well, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.</p><p><strong>Role/Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Calibrate industry-leading torque control systems on high performance vehicles to achieve performance, drivability, and efficiency goals.</li><li>Define attribute goals for drivability and work with powertrain, chassis, and other controls engineers to tune hardware and software simultaneously to achieve them.</li><li>Work closely with controls engineers to develop a strong understanding of the system and improve algorithms to meet attribute goals.</li><li>Travel to test facilities near-by and around the world to calibrate systems in all relevant situations.</li><li>Develop and execute test plans to validate calibrations against subjective, objective, regulatory, and functional safety requirements.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, electric powertrains, and control theory fundamentals. First-principles approach to understanding new systems and solving problems.</li><li>Extensive experience in powertrain or drivability calibration, particularly for electric or high-performance applications.</li><li>Work effectively with others: receive and provide feedback clearly, kindly, and constructively.</li><li>Data-driven: translate subjective feedback into effective calibration changes through data analysis and sound reasoning.</li><li>Superb written communication skills.
